They should have gotten more - period -

Did they add value with the trade? Yes - but they left more at the table.

Tidjane Salaun I really believe can be a Star Player. Tidjane Sister and Victor W Sister both play for France National Team.

If they get paired up the Spurs will be ahead of the Rockets in this Rebuild, plus the Talent Gap in the Front Court will be Dangerous.

Four assets for two? It is really three assets for two because the Rockets are not going to want to swap their 2025 first rounder for the Suns. At best the picks are going to be very close. So it is really two really good assets for three assets that may turn out to be really good or maybe not. This is the same crap we would see when Stone would claim he traded for 1st rounders when everyone paying attention knew very well that they would never materialize due to restrictions on them.

What assets they should have gotten? Some of the assets from the Knicks trade. They should have only traded the 2025 draft pick and kept the 2026 pick swap.

The analysis of "hey we turned 2 into 3" is very primitive and doesn't take into consideration the circumstances surrounding the Nets and how desperate the Nets were to get back control of their draft.

Again - the Rockets added liquidity by pushing back the maturity date on their future assets, and they gained another future asset than what they gave up. That is all positive and good. However, when the circumstances are considered, a really shrewd negotiator would have held out for and gotten more. The Rockets had literally all of the leverage.

I respect your opinion but we can agree to disagree here.

Feigen and other experts have outlined how the Rockets did great here and the plan fits the future. Honestly, some posters have negative agendas and seek glass-half-empty stances against Stone or with a little positive to balance out the spin as acceptable.

Rather than look for an opportunity to spin it negatively, let's look at what is objectively happening for the team's success long term.

Sengun is a near and likely all-star, Amen, Cam, and even Green have star potential at 19-22 years old. all drafted by Stone, Ime was interviewed and signed by Stone. a near 20-win increase from last year.

We've stockpiled draft picks, as after this draft we likely won't have room for more young players and will allow our core to develop.

The later Suns picks put us in the position to trade with the Suns if Booker wants to leave or blow it up. Not going for KD despite media speculation.

The later picks allow us to keep cheap role players when we're contending in future years.

If it's about the Rockets succeeding long-term, this is outstanding and we're in a great position as many teams or even players are looking at us as a team of value in the future. This was an A grade IMO and I agree with the condenses grades, to be honest.

But again we can agree to disagree here, it's fine to have a different stance.

The suns are in worse shape.

The nets will have max cap space in one year or the expiring ben simmons contract to move. They then had the suns picks to use via draft or trade.

The suns have 151 million committed to just Booker, Beal, Allen, and Little after the 2025-26 season.

They could re-sign Durant but that would involve paying him into his 40s.

They are going to be in a bind and the nets won't be. They will need 3 starters and a bench for 20-40 million in cap space.

I don't think it was a horrible trade, but I agree we could have held out for more. The 27 swap got more valuable, but the 25 phoenix swap is useless without the Suns suddenly deciding to tank.

Because the picks belonged to brooklyn at the time and Brooklyn didn't want to trade them to Phoenix. So that wasn't on the table.

We could deal the Brooklyn picks to them but Brooklyn would be holding on to Bridges and not tanking.

i mean at least no GMs will be hesitant to deal with Stone. Seems like he has earned a lot of good will with other organizations.

Remember how much ire Morey drummed up in his last couple years here? No team would deal with his crap.

“The Rockets aren’t going to want to swap their 2025 pick with the Suns.” Funny, I remember critics of the Harden trade saying the 2024 swap was worthless.

this is my main issue with the trade. I understand what they were doing and I get it. But I think the Nets were in a terrible position; incredibly vulnerable. We had so much leverage; we should have been able to extract more. A good GM would have gotten more. But overall, I feel better about the trade than I did yesterday and I do believe Phoenix is a good bet to be in trouble by 2027 if not sooner.

They turned down more than 4 picks from Memphis. It was widely reported. OKC could have also without breaking a sweat. Bridges wanted NY and was willing to work with them to make it happen.

Claxton has a cap hold. Not tanking makes it likely they retain him. They could have ran back Bridges, Thomas, and Claxton who average just over 25 years old.

They can now cut Bogdanovich and release hold on Claxton for a cap space for a free agent. They could unload DFS for a pick and have 35 million for Anunoby, Hield, or someone else.

They could move Simmons expiring and Phoenix picks for someone.

Point is, they wouldn't have to tank and would have no incentive to.

Honestly, you're asking me to give up Jabari for only 2 years of Durant?

I'm saying no.... that's not where this team is.

Tell me doing that makes them contenders and I'll entertain it. I see that being a mid playoff seed.

Gamble on youth. No need to shorten the window.

You realize this is just some media dips**t making things up? It isn't something Stone is entertaining (hopefully)?

Windhurst says it himself, the only connection between KD and Rockets is him reading WOJ, LOL ...and WOJ kinda backtracked it few minutes later

The Rockets org isnt stupid and wont look to bring an aged KD who barely has another year of basketball...he done

The picks are for Booker and it seems like Rockets will be all in on that trade. So expect a huge haul for Phoenix...I say anyone can be dealt but Sengun
