If the trade back with Charlotte for Mark Williams and 6th then I'd do it. It doesn't seem like the Rockets are too enthused with Reed or Donovan, might as well trade back and draft a guy like Devin Carter or Knecht.

This deal has been in the works for at least six months. I’m sure Stone needed to get this done in order to make informed decisions on tonight’s pick. I think all of the squeezing was done.

The Suns have no depth and the only way they will be able to fill that depth is with the 22nd pick tonight and minimum contracts. They are an injury or two away from being in the lottery this year, and they have some injury prone guys

Yeah I don’t buy this at all. I still have my reservations about Stone in some areas but he’s not this stupid.

Oh, for sure. If any of their key players gets hurt, they're completely screwed. It's never a good feeling when you're relying on Durant and Beal to stay healthy.

I expect them to lose Eric Gordon as well, whom they were were really lucky to sign for so cheap last off-season. I doubt they find a deal like that this off-season

    Ignore the next 2 years...

    2027 and 2028...

    Here's their team:

    Devin Booker
    Brad Beal
    Grayson Allen
    Nassir Little

With cap holds for unused roster spots, that's 151 million in salary cap.

Booker will be 30, Beal will be 33.

They will need 3 starting players and will have 20-40 million in cap space to do it.

If Dillons Brooks is costing 18 million now, how far can they go with no picks and limited cap space?

Beal is an expiring contract but they have no picks to package him for a star.

It's going to get ugly really fast in Phoenix.

I bet they move Durant before then. It won't be to here... maybe a 3 way deal...

Dude just dropped a 27ppg campaign on elite shooting splits while playing 75 games at 38mpg. Im not noticing a decline. Obviously he will at some point, but the dude as of today sticks jumper after jumper. His play style is not predicated on athleticism its pure skill. He will age gracefully and will probably play into his 40s if he wants to and more than likely be effective all the way through.

edit: The Reddit trades are ridiculous. PHX would be happy with a few players, but mainly with getting their draft picks back. Stone is 10 moves ahead.

Bust out your magic 8 ball and tell the class when KD is going to break down.

I believe Presti would flip a BKN pick (maybe two) for future picks.

But no one can convince me Presti doesn’t first call BKN’s bluff (after they previously refused the trade) to get more. We’re talking Sean Marks here. I think the entire haul by the Rockets would have been available with just the ‘25 swap, plus maybe even more … like some of the lessor stuff the Knicks gave up.

I understand the strategy of the trade — pushing our FRP assets back and potentially doubling their amount, and understand that maybe (maybe) BKN doesn’t make the NYK trade without us involved, first. But I don’t need Bima and The Cat (and others) overstating this (to the point of protecting Stone), when walking away from the trade is absolutely enough of a counter strategy worthy of Calling Sean Marks Bluff!!

bottomline: no one can convince me Presti wouldn’t have walked away with more value, or …. just walked away.

Trade Grade — I would have walked away, but I’m not upset enough to debate this or start a thread about it

The 2027 Nets pick swap is even more overlooked. These doubters gonna be surprised when we have 2 lotto picks in 2027 even if we made the playoffs lol.

I have a feeling we will be sending Green, Sengun/filler/ Suns picks to the Suns for Booker.

    Take Clingan 3rd.

Booker, Amen, Tari, Bari, Clingan, Whitmore.

    Lots of potential there

KD is elite, I’m just saying you don’t trade the farm for a 36 yr old that has had a few injuries.

There is an incredibly slim chance that the Suns are trading Booker right now. If it happens it'd be in a year or two if the Suns blow it and need to rebuild. You don't blow your load to get KD and Beal then give up on it after only one season of it

Presti is one of a kind. You dont really go around comparing your banker to Warren B or your wife to Scarlett Johansson or your kid to Einstein etc. I'm sure he would have gotten more assets than Stone, but firing Stone wont mean Presti is replacing him so I dont really get your point. I'm sure Jokic would've gotten us to the playoffs last year but I'm not hating on Sengun either.

What bluff are you talking about though? Its not a 3 team trade Nets traded with Rox and Knicks separately. Unless Stone has a mole in the Nets FO how would he know Bridges was going to the Knicks?

Walking away just hurt us since this trade benefits us. We dont need a low lotto 2025 pick our top 3 pick is gonna sit his ass on the bench!!!

So…folks are upset about missing out on like a 5% chance at Flagg, because there is no way the Nets finish in the bottom six in the East next year without tanking.

Weirdly enough, Suns fans are pushing for it too. They know they’re cooked.

Folks need to stop saying the Nets 2025 pick was guaranteed lotto. The East sucks and they had a ton of injuries last year. They coulda made the playoffs with a healthy roster.
