This is where we miss Morey who would’ve taken Brooklyn to the bank and beyond. Goodness gracious, I would’ve accepted Bridges to be ours with 4 picks or 2-3 with Green to the Nets over this.
Stone kicking the can down the road is sheer brilliance. He gives up picks that would have overlapped with the current build. By the time the Suns picks come in we would have already found out who to keep, extend and compete with. The players we have now will be in the heart of their prime in 2027 and beyond. Other option is that Houston trades for Kevin Durant as well as a Star Player B and wins a ring within the next three years. Those of you who dont think KD still moves the needle are crazy. Masterclass by Rafael Stone.
The nets don’t make that trade if they couldn’t get their own picks. Why would they tank without having control of their picks?
Oh yeah, like he really took OKC to the bank when we traded for Westbrook. We are in this mess because of that guy.
Not a fan of the Durant part at 35 or 37 years old. But yeah the kicking the can down the road for flexibility and development of their young core.
He just came off a fantastic season. 75 games. 38 minutes per game. Sure his team was embarrassed in the playoffs, but that sht happens. KD looks like one of those HOFs that will play into their 40s and contribute. His play style is an assortment of silky jumpers. Personally I see it as a 3 year window before we move on, but if we win a championship within that timeframe it would have been worth it right? I see a Shaq to Miami situation here with KD. Question is who is our DWade?
The James Harden trade is the gift that keeps on giving. Great move by Stone. It's easier to win in the East vs the West. One decent move by the Nets and they can be in the playoffs. Rockets are going all out for phase 3 and betting they drastically improve next season while Phoenix gets worse. The Suns have no chemistry and could miss the playoffs next season depending on much better other teams (like the Rockets and Spurs) get. Teams are learning the hard way that having a bunch of stars one one team isn't a good idea. The Suns are probably next to start their rebuild. It's just a matter of time. Stone's setting the Rockets up for long term success.
It'll be funny in 2026 when we trade PHX's 2027 and 2029 picks to them for Booker and even more picks so they can tank.
Rumors we're dangling Sengun for a 35 year old KD on the NBA Central Twitter. Sengun was top 20 in PER and advanced BPM. That's what would make this a stupid trade.
The picks trades are okay. But if he is hording all these picks for an aging star like Durant, I'm going to kill him.
