If we hold these picks instead of trading them then there is absolutely nothing impatient at all about this.

I'm fine with the pick swap swapping.

If he really is going after KD, though, then OP is right. It's exactly what I feared when we started this tank-first rebuild: Ferntits would get impatient and try to take shortcuts. I'll wait to see how all this shakes out, but I'm not optimistic.

Maybe this trade sucks in the long term, but it's the exact opposite of being impatient. They traded near picks that may be pretty good, for long term picks that may or may not be.

If they turn around and trade for KD that obviously changes, but as of now that's just random speculation.

How is starting this thread not impatient? We have acquired more assets, these will likely be used in a trade. We have yet to see what will happen with them, be patient.

a pick swap and a low lorro pick ain't gonna get it done. Mikal freaking Bridges went for like 5 picks an a swap?

It is only an impatient move if the Rockets go for Durant. Otherwise, this course of action could very well require more patience and a bigger-picture outlook. Solid move overall - unless we would have gotten Flagg.

He was more patient because he pushed the picks further down the road.

I really wanted next years pick. Imagine the Nets getting the no. 1 pick and drafting Cooper Flagg. No one would be able to score on this team.

Traded 2025 pick swap and 2026 Nets pick for 2027 and 2029 Suns/Mavs pick and swap. This looks like giving the current team 2 years to grow. And we still have assets to trade for missing pieces in 2026.

Ime and Fertitta makes for a lethal combination in terms of impatience. Let’s see what happens. Doesn’t change the fact that Morey handled that pressure way better.

They are literally using Brunson's prime trying to contend, nothing wrong with that.

In principle, but they overpayed by a good bit IMO.

I think their arms rivalry with the Cavs, Pacers and Boston will have them make more mistakes....but in their defense they look much better than the losing Knicks of old.

If Bridges remains a borderline star, blends in well chemistry wise and stays healthy, this could work out for them. But the way that team is coached, their guys are worn and broken down deep into the playoffs as they were this past year. So their future is uncertain.

Praying for a quick recovery for Mr. Tilman -- it must be serious if he's going in right before the draft.
