It would be hilarious if Eric Gordon were to be a teammate with Jalen Green again. I'm sure he'd love that. He might just pick up his player option and walk away.
The numbers work if you deal Green + FVV for Booker; just add sweeteners. If you use #3 on Sheppard, you might need a vet guard Sheppard / #44? Booker/ TBA Brooks/ Amen/ Whitmore Jabari/Eason Sengun/Adams
TradeNBA says you could do Brooks + Adams + Green + Unc Jeff + Landale + Tate for Booker & KD Left with FVV - Shep (keep #3) Booker - Amen KD - Cam Bari - Tari Sengawd - Jalen Smith (use MLE) Shep becomes new core 6 + Booker makes 7 (young core). It's possible.
Its only possible for 1 yr then you need to do firesales as extensions kick in. KD and Booker make like 110M by themselves or like 3 of the core 6 max rookie extensions. Im ok with getting Booker to replace Jalen Green and FVV. It would work financially the Rox can still keep all their talent.
Wouldn't mind getting behind a Book trade. PG13 is cheaper option and a better trade off compared to what we'd have to give up for KD. Can't get behind Durant on a 2 year contract, dude can be sketchy at times.
FVV is gone or traded opens up cap space ($44M). Cap goes up. You are really trying to make a 2 year push since KD is maxed out. You gotta pay Sengawd, but that's it. Could totally see TF being impatient and pushing chips in for a title shot sooner rather than later.
Booker over KD is ok with me, even though I'm not thrilled about it. I'm glad Stone didn't throw the farm for Mikel Bridges. The Knicks have acquired him.
Unless Booker requests a trade, this is a pipe dream. Trae Young, Brandon Ingram, Karl Anthony Towns (Minnesota is in cap jail), Dejounte Murray and perhaps Donovan Mitchell at the trade deadline if he doesn’t sign an extension with the Cavaliers this offseason are realistic possibilities. Maybe Zion Williamson, too.
KD will be out at that point Cap still going up Jabari + Tari can get their $$$$ Not saying it will happen, but I do see a path forward financially
Don't forget Darius Garland, whom I'd prefer over all of those other guys. He had a down year last year but he had a broken face and couldn't eat solid food for a month. Could be a distressed asset acquired on a discount.
Good call. I like Garland a lot, too. He’s a good, young point guard. His big issue is he is a defensive liability because of his size. I also left out Lauri Markannen, only because I question a Markannen-Sengun frontcourt’s ability to defend.
