Don’t the thunder have swap rights next year on our pick because of Westbrook trade? If that swap is exercised before the Suns swap becomes effective then we will get the Suns pick assuming that the thunder continue to be much better than both us and the Suns

I disagree, because they are in the much tougher Western Conference. And Booker could demand a trade out.

This is a great trade, a lot of yall are tripping. If the Rockets wouldn’t give them back their picks, the Nets would have kept Bridges and continued to try and win as much as possible. We added more picks to the chest to either use for a star player, and if we keep them they’ll likely be good picks anyway as the Suns are on the down slide.

Don’t know how I feel about this right now. But I know this:

When Nets tank hard and get high lotto picks in next two years, people will burn Stone for this trade. But in reality? If Nets don’t have their own picks, they wouldn’t tank hard and the picks would both be mediocre.

Point being, can’t judge the trade by how bad Nets will be and how high their picks will get in the next couple of years.

This was mediocre at best before the Knicks deal.

    Houston gets:
2025 Houston/OKC for Phoenix swap. This is worthless, it won't convey.
2029 Houston's pick for less favorable of Dallas/Phoenix swap. Also basically worthless, at best a late round pick swap.
2027 Phoenix Suns first-round pick. Who knows.
2029 more favorable of Dallas and Phoenix first-round pick in. Who knows.

    Houston gave up:
2025 Brooklyn swap - might be a lotto pick.
2026 Brooklyn pick - also might be a lotto pick.

tldr; Basically great swap and a great pick for two future unknowable picks and one shitty at best pick swap.

I see where you’re coming from, but I understand why the Rockets did it. We’ll see in the next two years how those Nets picks turn out then we can come back and discuss again.

This guy is also dumb. Trading the picks of a non-playoff team with zero All-Stars for a playoff team (under 50 wins lmao, who is this idiot) with two All-Stars is asset mismanagement. Especially when you factor in time value and uncertainty of the quality of 2027-2029 drafts.

    Rockets are stupid, again.

We didnt lose any player and I doubt these picks would be game changers eitherway. If you are already old you should be glad since these would enable a superstar trade if needed.

The 2025 is only downgraded not lost because we still get the 2025 Nets swap. With how competitive West is and Memphis, us and maybe SAS being a lot better I can see PHX sliding down.

The dream of getting Flagg or Hugo Gonzalez is gone. Instead we have to wait til 2027 for George's kid, Costanza.

Feigen had an article a couple of months ago where he said something similar - that the Rockets tried to trade the Nets picks in exchange for the Suns picks in January. Everybody here was basically saying "that's it?" and "no MIkal?"
