If he trades one of Amen or Sengun for Durant or another aging star we have no option but executing him after forcing him to watch his family getting eaten by pigs.

I haven't seen it included in any tweet yet, so I guess we kept it.

To me this is from an asset management standpoint slightly good for the Rockets. More assets but further away. I think in terms of trade value this is probably a bit better than the original Nets stuff, cause rebuilding teams prefer more assets further away. But in terms of this team building obviously the closer Nets picks mean stuff coming this way quicker.

A clear TBD trade that I personally am more on the in-favor side of things.

Ace Bailey and Cooper Fagg. These 2 guys are franchise cornerstones. Hope the bald cunt knows what he is doing.

    I like the trade.

Doubling the premium pick assets and pushing the asset duration further for two years is not to be underestimated. If anything it allows the FO to be MORE patient than having to scourge the thin star market now to make a win-now bet.

Something is sure to shake loose in PHX in 2 yrs imo due to the 2nd apron prison. And Dallas in 5 years? Without Kyrie and with the injury history of Luka? I love the optionally that’s added in the trade. Don’t forget we still have BKN swap right in 2027.

The 25 pick was never going to be picked to begin with (with the off chance that it’s Flagg). The timeline is never in line with Rockets contention plan.

Also, the Mikal trade probably would never happen if Hou didn’t agree to the trade, so the implied Flagg % is not as high as people clamored for.

I also think this was Stone’s plan for a while since the trade deadline. Wasn’t there report saying that the Nets trade negotiation was targeting not primarily Mikal (which could be wrong) but mostly for these PHX picks?

To be fair that tweet didnt list all the PHX Suns he gave back so it kooks impressive.

But at the same time doesnt this make the KD trade the best of all time for the Nets? If you combine all they got for KD and all they got from Bridges its kinda insane.

It’s a good trade. Stop dramatizing the 2025 swap. We traded 2 assets for 4 assets. We pushed them back multiple years. We already have enough young guys to develop. All of these things are good. For roster construct and trade bait.

IF the 2025 swap ends up being Flagg, which is like a 5% possibility at most, we can complain about it being a bad trade.

Yeah this is what I'm thinking now. Woj reported the trade backwards so it looked like we knew 2025 pick would be gold and still gave it away.

This wont be provable anymore since the Nets will be straight up tanking now they own their pick. They'll go for that 13% chance to get Flagg.

Btw that Mikal price tag plus inflation is going to be the Tari Eason price tag in 5 years.

I think Suns picks are fairly valuable in that teams are like vultures waiting for them to blow it up. At that point, the Rockets will either have traded the picks for something that helps them "win now" (like a vet) or they'll just be ready to offer the picks back to the Suns for somebody like Booker, I guess. No idea. But that's what Woj seems to be rambling about.

It does suck that they traded away the 2025 swap and the 2026 pick, though. Both of those drafts are going to be really good up top. But you can't keep drafting rookies and dumping them on the roster. You have to start getting older sometime.
