    I can see it now.

Woj: Talks heating up between Suns and Rockets for Devin Booker. Trade all but done.

Presit: lulz. How many draft picks are Houston offering? 5? Ok make it 6. Oh they're offering 7? Ok make it 8.

    Correct.
And we essentially traded 2 1st round picks for 4 1st round picks.

Who would they sign Klay Thompson? No Mikal Bridges led team is making the playoffs no matter who they add this off-season. They were just gonna blow all the space on overpaying Nick Claxton anyway. Even if that pick end up late lottery that's still worth a lot in a stacked draft.

All I can conclude is the Rockets are committed to this young core(plus Reed?) and wanted to push the extra picks back a few years in order to reload the roster should one or more of these players not pan out or if they have to get rid of some of them due to only being able to afford so many big contracts.

Sure, but they would rather trade with us because that way they control their own future and they can tank like the Nets are going to starting 2025.

Man. It seems they are going to trade the Suns their picks back plus the #3 for KD. This is Westbrook all over again. Tilman trying to sell tickets instead of build a team.
If we give up on Reed and the Phoenix picks for a washed KD I'm going to be livid.

Not this year, they would not have hired a win now coach in Budenholzer if they had the intention to blow it up.

He didn’t say we’re targeting Booker

Yeah I agree. Even if you think the Nets tanking was contingent on receiving our pick back, it sure seems like we could have leaned on them harder. Because them agreeing to bleed out slowly over many years? Seems like a poor move for them, I would've tried to call their bluff on that

I wonder if the trade was in place before the bridges trade.

There's no way they're trading for KD. That would mean they're giving up on Jabari since they play the same position. And there's no indication that's the case.

Stone clearly hasn’t considered my late age in his analysis.

Is this like the time we tried to max an injured Oladipo, except Oladipo didn’t turn us down?

Absolutely call their bluff! I just said that to my kid. I don’t know what I don’t know, so maybe something else is coming but I’m not thrilled.

But why... Unless you have a deal lined up, why is Stone so bent on helping them out.

Nets have a couple decent players at best so even with Bridges and cap space you can't possibly convince me that team is doing anything next year, but I guess now we'll never know ;)
