Clearly they made the Rockets trade right before pulling the Knicks trade.

Don't tell me we're doing this for the possibility of an old a** Kevin Durant.

Neither does the Rockets front office.

I hate giving up the 2025 swap with the Nets. Long term, those Suns picks could have more value(they ARE unprotected, right?), so I get wanting to acquire them.

I guess this is like the Harden trade. We won't really know how good of a deal the Rockets made til a few years from now.

Even with Bridges, the 2025 BKN swap is more valuable than all the picks Houston just received. They are dumb, period.

I don't really care if Brooklyn trading Bridges was contingent on getting this deal done.

They were set to be a mid-lottery team anyway.

They weren't going to have a choice but to tank and rebuild, it was just going to be the slow way or the faster way. We just handed them the faster way on a platter. Stupid.

But why are we helping them out? What do we gain here? We are literally about to draft 3rd with one of their picks.

Yeah, that's a huge gamble. The Nets were not gonna be a play-in team this upcoming season. Every team ahead of them will remain better.

Granted, I don't see the pick being Top 5 unless the ping pong balls bounce our way, but hell, that literally just happened with the 2024 pick .

For some reason this org has been under the belief they are 1 guy away from contending. This is like watching the Kings do their absolute best in the 2010s to have a peak of being a 1st round, maybe 2nd round exit team

Gotcha. I’d rather have the nets run it back with that roster and keep the pick. Guess let’s see how this plays out but imo not liking the deal.

I'm sorry but the Harden was a good deal from the get go and everyone agreed. Everybody considered Harden an all star caliber guard who needed more usage

The 2025 draft is stacked with star talent

    We are helping ourselves out.
We keep wanting to trade their picks back for Suns picks because we know Nets have no incentive to tank as long as we own their picks.
They approach us to let us know that they will trade Suns picks for their picks back if they can trade Mikal to the Knicks.
Like I stated before, hoping for Cooper Flagg was always a pipe dream because Nets will continue to field a relatively competitve team as long as we own their picks.
