I don’t think he’ll ever be the number 1 guy. With that said, I could see Reed being like a more fundamental Jamal Murray. Obviously with a better shot. Of course that would be best case scenario. Gonna be an interesting 24 hours.
2009 if Sergio Llull had been a Rocket! "Ohio St. will never produce an NFL holy phenom at the quarterback position!!!" 1940-2023
Still less pages... Even then, I seem to remember some Paolo supporters thinking more along the lines of 'this is the guy who will fall to us so let's make it work'. Some Sheppard supporters are more 'fire Stone if he passes up the next Steph Curry!' The exuberance is next level.
Lol what? In a one on one Reed's not quick enough, agile enough or tall enough to stop Jalen. It'd be a literal massacre. Reed has nobody to set a screen for him, pass it to him whilst he's open or create any separation - next you'll try that his lateral quickness or whatever is even close enough, it's not. Jalen's first step alone makes him completely unguardable for Reed. Jalen could block Reed on athleticism alone with no second man to get him separation. Y'all are absolutely insane.
When was the last time the best shooter was also the highest b-ball IQ player in the draft as well as one of the best passers? I am not saying Sheppard will be an all-star but he is much more than just one of the best shooters ever.
Mac's right, I went back through them. The last player considered the best shooter in the draft who turned into an all-star caliber player is Trae Young.
And, for what it's worth--Trae Young put up monster numbers as a freshman in college. 27, 9, and 4 with 2.0 stocks. Shooting percentages weren't nearly as good as Reed Sheppard (42% / 36%) but his shot volume was about double, so that kinda makes sense.
KOC just updated his big board for the final time, with Reed at the top. https://nbadraft.theringer.com/
Literally the only thing I agree with in the lottery is putting Devin Carter at #5. And that's my big outlier "super high on this one guy" opinion in this draft class. His board is absolutely wild. Way different from anybody else's I've seen.
I love this and hate it at the same time. Please do not let this convince Atlanta or Washington to take him or someone to leap frog us and get him.
This isn't a massacre. Many a guard has strolled past the formidable D of Mr. Green. If someone rolled the ball to Sheppard and told him to score on Jalen, he'd be fine. The separation would be created when Jalen lunged for the blocked shot on the head fake. Yes, Jalen would score on the drive in reply, but I also think he might turn it over. That "whatever" you think Sheppard might have is called a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n. Sheppard has that. Jalen could learn a thing or two about it still.
Lol if all it took was KOC's opinion to sway ATL's and WAS's FO to pick Reed, they need to be fired for not doing their job. I'm worried about us trading down than not being able to pick Reed at the 3rd overall tomorrow.
It would depend what time of the season is for a Green vs Sheppard 1 v 1. If it is the beginning of the season Shep wins. If it is after the ASB Green wins.
I agree. I just really want him to drop to us. I do not want to see us stuck like we were with Jabari. Nothing against Jabari but Paolo is a better player.
Yeah I've actually watched Sheppard play, you're full of ****. He doesn't have ANY of the necessary moves to beat even Jalen's mediocre defense, and he literally cannot guard Jalen, at all, ever.
