That's not how I see it, to me it would kill credibility if he was just making **** up. It's clear that's what the Rockets are leaking to everyone so I have no reason to doubt that's what they are feeding him too
My conspiracy theory: The Rox have tabbed Sheppard as their guy, but know the Spurs covet him. So they float all these rumors that they're fixated on Clingan. The Spurs think they'll get Sheppard at #4, so they don't try to trade up ahead of us.
You have EVERY reason to doubt it as being true if it ends up not coming to pass, and every reason to discount the veracity of reports from guys like Iko and Gatlin if what they report ends up not being the case. That it is the team telling them nonsense doesn't make it any less nonsense. You don't see Feigen saying this stuff though, do you? Because he's an actual reporter, and not just a org mouthpiece.
Agree that Feigen is not a mouthpiece and a reporter of after the fact stuff or will say it is conjecture on his part. Much more professional, especially than Iko.
Thanks for the correction. I'm still concerned that they're considering to bring back Aaron Holiday. That's a pretty clear indication that Clingan is a strong contender for the 3rd spot. He won't fit in well with Sengun, Jalen and Tari. All of them need room to operate around the basket, and so does Amen. Clingan will be pulled away from the basket. All he can do is block shots and rebound the ball. He can score, but he is slow. He's no Jokic. Sheppard is a role player but he's a safer bet.
Jackson wants to draft him to trade him. He doesn't want us to use the number 3 pick but wants to trade down, this is his biased view. DD

Can't wait to draft Clingan who plays the same position as our best player & cannot play alongside him. Great use of assets there if so.
