Thats not what he said. He said he believes there's a good chance they trade it. He didnt say why he thought that. But he's also said a bunch of things he thinks will happen that didnt happen, so we'll see.
Might be a baller who scraps for top 6 but looks like Twig. NBA is shifting back to size. I don't think Stone or Udoka wants the lack of flexibility hiding the shorty unless he's that great and we have the tools to get him there.
Dam!! I mentioned something in the comments section on YouTube about Reed getting picked by the Wizards at #2 and almost got shot! Nobody wants Sheppard.
If you are playing JG and Alperen together, and they blow up, that's great... But 1-3-4 have to be great defenders, IMO. Amen+Tari+Jabari level defenders. Reed and JG is a small backcourt, just like Fred and JG. We also need shooting, so hopefully we get some surprising internal developments.
If we take him I will hope he does great........If we don't, I look forward to watching Amen covering him..........
Bilas dropping knowledge nobody else knows. Thanks Jay, for the in-depth analysis of Reed Sheppard. I hadn't heard he was a good college shooter.
The NBA absolutely works like this, it literally happened to the Rockets in 2006 when Portland broke up an agreed-to #6/#8 swap between Minnesota and Houston. The Wolves drafted Brandon Roy, and somehow the Blazers knew that they had no intention of keeping him, either because he was medically red-flagged, or they had previous discussions with Minny and knew their feelings about different players. They also knew the player McHale wanted in Randy Foye, and they drafted him to force the Wolves to deal with them instead of the Rockets. Minnesota went from potentially getting Luther Head, who had played 29 mpg as a 24th overall drafted player, finished 7th in ROY, and had made 2nd team all-rookie, to just getting $1M cash considerations for the trade-down. Source If Atlanta really drafted Sheppard #1, it would be incredibly obvious it was for a trade down. I would hope and expect that Stone would block the potential deal if he wanted Sheppard by drafting the guy Atlanta coveted the most and forcing their hand. A Washington trade down is a lot harder to block/predict. They could easily keep/play Sheppard, so they aren't at all forced to deal. They're also squarely in the talent accumulation phase, and don't have an obvious blocked position just yet, so it's a lot harder to tell which player they'd be trading down for.
What's the odds he is a pg.......or an NBA Johnny Manziel without a drug problem with parents pushing him to grab the cash while he can.... I'm predicting a better coach than player..........
you somehow compared Reed Sheppard to Johnny Manziel … so I suspect nobody will really give af about your predictions lol
I'm doing my best to convince myself the Rockets don't want Sheppard at this point, because if I get as excited as I want to and for some reason they don't get him, I'd probably trash my house. There are absolutely a ton of valid concerns about specifics and details for how Sheppard plays out, I 100% agree he won't be finishing at the rim like Westbrook, for instance, but there does seem to be a bunch of... not particularly well informed opinions.
Ignore the fact he has baby midget hands, as well as the fact he nearly broke his neck on this dunk attempt and just bask in the glory that is a Reed Sheppard freeze frame where he attempted to dunk on 3 opposing players in-game. Take your mind off the GARM insanity, the random tweets with random stats, the people that can't spell his name, etc. Just fantasize that if we draft him, he'll be our very own Steve Ker with hops.
"Lot's of expectations and then, obviously, the game is too big for them here (professional sports)".......I still wish Reed would have stayed in college at least for one more year.....I'm afraid if he did he would not be a top 3 pick in next years draft.......that uncertainty being said......I would go with the two time champion center and maybe Reed over Risacher........who do you let SA get?.....Reed or Sheppard?....
I'd be cool with Reed Sheppard at #3 and then a trade up to like #16 or so for Kyle Filipowski. Get them Kentucky boys over here.
