Oh, BTW.... Throughout sports history, injuries/age are the only things that have stopped dynasties, in-season. Astros are not old, or "getting older". The 90's Bulls don't count because their mess happened offseason. .
I didn’t get to see much of it cause I was coaching hoops…but holy crap what a good weekend for the ‘stros!
The amazing: First base defense and offense is now 5x better than it was on opening day. Pressly may be back. Chas may be back. Situational hitting has improved a lot. Catcher depth exists. The downside: We gave up 8 runs of a 11 run lead on Friday. Injuries still hurting with Bloss out. Still no real target date for return of Tucker and France.
This has been so fun to watch come together. Thought this team was done a few weeks ago but seems they've rallied behind injuries and are feeling themselves again. Not to mention the addition by subtraction of Abreu. You love to see it
Luis Robert had a career year just last year and has fallen off the face of the Earth as the White Sox cratered. The gamble is that the Astros can get such a talent who has a reasonable contract at a relative discount. It was be crazy for the Astros *not* to have interest considering Tucker is probably walking.
