Reminds me of last year when Chas had a quote saying "we are finally playing the best players" after Chandler put in print the alleged Dusty-Chas feud...
I do miss his epic bat flips... heck Bregman's demonstrative bat flips until the 2019 World Series were also amazing.
does anyone know why yordan missed two games during the whitesox road trip? i know it was personal related but he hasn't been the same since those two missed games. did someone in his family passed away? if so, i feel like he needs more time off to regather himself.
No guarantees but hopefully the Astros get over .500% and never look back. That will be a big psychological weight taken off their shoulders. They still need to aim for catching the M’s and holding off the Rangers, who I expect to wake up eventually. Astros have been very active in trade talks - the other really active team? The M’s.
That 7-run inning vs LAA literally costed Framber ~1.50 on his ERA (3.68 ---> 2.18) and a loss instead of a win on his record (6-5 ---> 7-4). He costed himself an All-Star selection -- plus the Astros LOST the game. Did Diaz f*** his girlfriend?
what positions are they targeting in the trade talks and/or who from the Astros is getting the most interest ? Thanks ! I’ll hang up and listen .
He doesn’t always make great decisions. He requires a lot of attention from the catcher and coaching staff. Overall he is worth it, he will pitch hurt, he will pitch deep into games… but he sometimes doesn’t have command and sometimes decides to do questionable things.
Seems like the the system has a glut of viable OFs even after the trades in recent years... the question is who does the team have the most faith in for the long run? (I think we chose right in having Chas and Meyers over Siri and Straw.) Maybe I am overvaluing Leon, Chas, Loperfido, and some others, but I think what we have in the system can contribute more than any outfield bat that is available... and heck... I wouldn't mind an infield that has Loperfido/Dubon at first...
Blame the guy with the unbuttoned shirt, terrible goatee, who lives 0-2 in the count, plus can't catch a pop-up. Crane deserves some blame too for holding on for desperate life a month too long.
Pitching - starter and reliever and 1st base. They continue to have interest in Luis Robert, someone Brown has consistently wanted.
The system does have some outfielders that could be starting quality. If they get an outfielder, it will be a clear upgrade under control like Robert.
Despite the back of the baseball card, and maybe I am a homer, but I don't see Robert as an upgrade over Loperfido or Meyers in terms of finances or production. I feel this would be worse than Carlos Gomez displacing Marisnick from his starting spot at CF -- again potential homerism in my original skepticism on that trade (or even worse... Mancini not displacing Yuli in 2022.)
