I mean I wish that Jalen would be good for more parts of a season than say, a month or 2 but I think the only real talent they could have had that would be a major miss would be Barnes. Mobley just feels like a defense only guy honestly; he hasn’t really grown on offense at all.

brooks? He wasn’t too bad in the first month or so but towards the second half of the season it was meh. Maybe another year in the system will help? You don’t have a problem with the fvv contract?

If trading down I would personally prefer to trade completely out of this draft (for the most part, one of the older players is somewhat enticing) with whatever capital acquired to help move up as high as possible next draft.

With a middling pick next draft another first rounder along with maybe one of the Nets assets you should be able to get to top 2-3 from seven or eight. You add another guy that has a good chance of being a top player and gives you a lot of options.

Initially I didn't like the FVV contract, but finding out that 3rd year was an option had me in full support of it.

The Rockets have no competent guards outside of FVV, is he overpaid? Of course.... but he's the second best player on the roster due to choices that were made.

Hopefully either this FO starts making moves to earn some respect and trust, or they get gone. One way or the other this draft needs to move that needle one way or the other.

Everyone wants a chance at Cooper Flagg

We want a lotto ticket without the Rockets actually tanking

What’s your take on trading out of this draft for an unprotected pick from a likely lottery team next year?

Already posted same in another thread but I was thinking moving further back near the top 7-11 and get a future FRP.

Stone's exploring his options, but I don't think he'll move completely out of this draft. Witus may like Edey better than Clingan, which moving to lower in the lottery could facilitate, plus the addition of a potential lottery ticket in 2025.

What do you plan on giving up for a lottery pick in a draft where any of the top 5 players would be a #1 or #2 in this draft? For the Rockets, they could end up with the #14 pick. For the team they're trading with, they could end up losing a shot to draft Flagg, Bailey, Harper, Edgecombe, Traore, etc. in exchange for....?

I don’t think it would happen either, but maybe a crappy front office like Washington couldn’t resist the #2 and #3 pick to start their re-build.

With Carter here we wouldn't have to worry about Reed at all. He would get shut down almost completely.

No idea, but Washington having a crappy front office may also be pretty overrated, too. I thought they gutted a lot of their front office and replaced them with people on the Presti and GSW management tree in the last year or so. I think with them, it's probably a "remains to be seen" in that regard.

Maybe there's somebody out there that values a player or two as highly as #3 this year who would go after our pick and think they won't be as bad a team next year to get anywhere near a top-5 pick. But if their pick lands at #1 next year thanks to the lottery gods, those GM's would never hear the end of it.

I'm just trying to figure out what that would take in terms of a trade for that team or for the Rockets to make such a deal. I don't mind the Rockets trading back a bit, either, but not sure what we'd get in return.

Trade down with Portland (they want the pick) for the 7 and 14. Take Cody Williams and Kel'el Ware.
