    My 88 year old father used to get on my nerves in the last 20 years calling mllb racist because of the decline of black players but I wasn't taking into account his judgement is heavily shaped by the past before Jackie Robinson.

    It's really hard to truly understand how meaningful that was for Blacks is terms of progress and hope for more progress for everyone

    Black kids just don't play baseball, Thursday he blamed it on wealth. Baseball is expensive but black kids in America just aren't into it

    A large part of growing up playing baseball is the father-son relationship.
