Why does it not matter that a potential draftee to the NBA has multiple collegiate championships?

There are ways in the NBA to limit his 3 pt shooting attempts....and force him to beat teams in the pick n roll.

No great players in this draft. Just pretty good role players. Which is all we can ask for.

I'm sensing a pattern in these AngryCornbread threads:

Absolute trash take gets shat upon by everyone and weakly defended by OP. Rinse and repeat.

Ochai Agbaji was the Final Four most outstanding player on an NCAA championship team...

There was a time when it absolutely mattered. From 1980 to 1998, only one championship was won by a team without their best player at least being in the NCAA championship game. As you might expect Moses on the 76ers was the exception.

This so affected NBA thinking that in the LeBron/Carmelo draft, people were using it to argue for the "tested" Carmelo as the #1 pick.

I don't think winning an NCAA title (or several) is a real factor to selecting a prospect (for multiple reasons).
But mentioning Christian Laettner as an example to refute the theory is as stupid as referring to Michael Jordan to affirm it.
