Why does it not matter that a potential draftee to the NBA has multiple collegiate championships?

Would those expectations carry over to their next team?
If the level of competition is so vastly different then why is that not considered more in depth as a factor/warning sign with players such as Reed Sheppard and most of everyone else before and after him?
Seems like winners want to keep on winning......
What has anyone on our team that is a draft pick from the last 4 years ever won?.......
Do they even know what it takes?............
    Clingan has earned the chance.

I'm sure dumb people think team accomplishment is important when looking at individual players.

So, you have them to preach to I guess.

How a player contributed to those championships should matter imo. Was he/she vital in winning? In Clingans case, yes.
Also, putting Sheppards name in a thread about championships is cruel breh.

I'll say it again for those in the back who missed it the first time:

    CHRISTIAN. LAETTNER.

    None of it means jack.

What are you expecting from a weak draft? Was Laettner a complete bum?

What I'm saying is that winning the NCAA championship as a key contributor, or even one of the greatest NCAA players in history does not mean a damn thing when it comes to the NBA. Laettner wasn't a total bum, but he did go from being the best player in college and beating Shaq to a Dream Team slot to a thoroughly mundane NBA career that peaked with 1 all star appearance and 18ppg in his best season. Hardly an argument that winning the NCAA makes you some great NBA player.

Not saying it makes you a great NBA player but winning is more important than other guys that have never tasted it.....Reed Sheppard's dad Jeff?.....Come on?.........A one and done with no concern with winning a college championship?......And the Rockets are now the team where that attitude changes?.......dude was afraid to play another year based on draft status and money IMO............

It only matters if all other things are equal. In this case (Shepp vs Clingon), they’re not.

And btw HLM, stop creating shitty threads.

The way the modern draft works at least is the high talent guys don't have enough years in college to have multiple NCAA titles. The blue chip prospects are in the NBA right after their freshmen year. Maybe in the 90s you'd see more NCAA titles winner become stars because a lot more high end talent did at least three years in college. But not today.

Nah you're dead wrong. Christian Laettner won 2 championships in the NCAA, best player in college by far. Did nothing in the NBA. Conversely, Steph Curry didn't win any and is one of the greatest NBA players of all time. What the **** does Reed's Dad have to do with anything? Our coach is an incredible coach, trash ass benchwarmer in the NBA though. Jabari's Dad? Pretty trash tier NBA player. Let's look at it the other way, Lebron James has a kid, he's obviously gonna be the goat right because of who his dad is? How about Shaq? His kid's gonna be WAY better than average player Dell Curry's son right? Seriously, stop framing nonsense as logic, it's stupid.

What have our draft picks ever won? Did I miss the part where college champions become all-stars on the next level? Off the top of my head it's only Jalen Brunson at the moment. Many of the elite prospects are one and done now. They barely have the opportunity to win one college championship, forget about multiple. If the stars align it can happen like with Melo. In most years the championship pedigree means absolutely nothing for the NBA.

Nah you're not allowed to use Brunson. OP's narrative is that only players with parents who were GOOD in the NBA go on to be good players. Rick Brunson was pure scrub so Jalen's abilities don't count any more.

If championships from college don't translate into an NBA player, than shooting stats from an one and done undersized collegiate SG or future NBA PG (never been a PG before?......why?).........really is not indicative of anything as well .....thanks for the clarification....pass it on.......glad we can agree.......

Excuse me Donovan….. May I asked why you are so passionate about being a Rocket? There really isn’t a clear pathway for you to start here over the next few few years.

Nah, you don't get to put words in my mouth. I never said that anywhere, we don't agree, and you're an ass.
