Would have to be at least 3 future draft assets to buy #3. The price was 3 protected firsts when OKC bought #11 a couple years ago. So something like LAL 2025 + MIL 2026 swap + MIL 2027.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Whatever you think about the Lakers and Bucks future, Lakers will have LBJ and AD and Milwaukee will have Giannis and Dame in those years. The median expectation for all those picks combined is ~0 lottery picks. Mid to late firsts are just not meaningful for us, given the amount of actually premium assets we have.

Not sure that’s our problem! The more senseless the trade for a WC rival the better.

Think so too. Would be less if picks are unprotected but I doubt they would do that. Id love to have at least one of those MIL picks (26 a strong class - Rockets presumably think it more highly than the 25 class - and 27 further away) With moderate protections I’d think it’s for 3 future protected firsts too.

I’m all for future 1sts but we are highly unlikely to be picking this high again anytime soon. I hope we are driving a hard bargain in trade talks.

Oh for sure, if they want to do something stupid, I'm happy to help them out in any way.

I just was trying to think through that intel and figure out how credible it seems. Then again, if intel said that OKC could get Caruso by only giving up Giddey, I wouldn't find that credible either. *shrugs*

(except maybe I would believe Caruso for Giddey because of course the Bulls do dumb things like that)

It’s a balance of future gun powder v.s control of own prospects. I’m 50/50 but understood the idea of extending the duration of assets (think about their approaching the nets to get the PHX picks). It’s really about getting future picks with moderate optionality, ideally from likely fallen angels / aging teams such as LAL and MIL. Those picks are of HIGH value in trades.

Reed is going to have to pay $100 to Hinton for that No.15.
He must really not like Trae's antics. I don't blame him.

Probably because he has a better chance to be "the guy" in Washington, and will get a lot more frontcourt minutes there

Doubt he gets past the Wiz, but I wonder if he would be equally disinterested in the Rockets given we have Jabari + Sengun

    Scenario 1: 1. Risacher 2. Sarr 3. Sheppard 4. ??? (Castle?)
    Scenario 2: 1. Clingan 2. Sarr 3. Sheppard 4. Risacher

Sarr is 99% going to Washington. I’m ready to lock it in. But as bballholic once said, 99% is not 100.

I am perfectly fine with both scenarios. All I care about is that we get the Shepp!

How sure are we the Rockets wouldn't pick Risacher if he drops? Because I'm not certain about that at all.

I could make a case for any of the 5-6 guys at the top (assuming they're available). Risacher is lower on my board than guys like Sheppard, Sarr, etc., but I suppose they could take him.

I wouldn't like it but Risacher is my 2nd choice. The worst part about that is it would gift wrap Sheppard for the Spurs. We would regret that if it happens.
