Reed's handle is probably tighter than Jalen and Amen's when they came into the league. His deficiencies are largely overblown to the point where I feel like we're going to get Banchero'ed again.
Sarr is everything that Jabari is as a defender PLUS the added bonus of rim protection. His shot is not as refined at this stage as Jabari was, but he is not inept as a shooter with some practice his outside shot could become a weapon. Sarr is a lob threat where Jabari is not. Sarr plays above the rim while Jabari plays below it. I think Sarr would compliment Sengun better than Jabari because of his ability to erase defensive mistakes by the perimeter players and defend the rim. He would be a more natural partner for Sengun in two man games because he doesnt need to operate within the same zones as Sengun. Jabari and Sengun sometimes clash because Jabari likes to work on the block similar to Sengun. It relegates Jabari to a spot shooter most of the time because he doesnt move and look to play above the rim or look to be active in PNR action as the roll man and he really isnt even a great pick setter. The choice would come down to who do you believe in more long term Sarr or Jabari?
Ive never seen Jabari come out of a box out and block or contest a rim attacker. He'll point the finger at Sengun though.
Jalen and Amen are elite athletes that are not undersized. They do not need elite handle to get their shot off.
Yep. There was some reliable article or another during the Silas Doldrums, Jabari quoted as yelling for the coaches to pull Sengun. I got tired of everyone blaming Sengun for defense when our guards and wings were tossing prison salad on perimeter D. Who does Sengun guard? His own man, give up a layup or dunk by a guard/wing? Shift to stop the guard/wing and leave his own man open for a pass and layup or dunk?
Really haven't seen Reed pull out any creative handles in college that Green did as a rookie. Maybe being shorter naturally would make his handles tighter due to lower center of gravity? Don't know. His turnover rate in college doesn't scream extremely secure handle.
I don't see why tight handles have anything to do with catch and shoot 3s. If your asking if he gonna be able to break guys down and shoot a 3 in their face, no he probably won't be that guy.
He's just physically weak and soft. People keep saying wait till he fills up. Karl Anthony Townes is completely filled up and?
So do Cam and Amen have kindergarten handles. It's fun to when you see opposing team former player commentators wax lyrical about Green's handle and quickness sitting right at the sidelines seeing him right in front of them.
I think the Rockets are available for a trade, as they made it know early in the process. But the Rocket’s aren’t giving away the pick without real value in return. Since GM’s are likely lowballing the Rockets, the team is letting the rest of the NBA, they have a few guys they prioritize at the #3 pick and aren’t opposed to selecting a guy with their 3rd pick.
Somehow Reed Sheppard seems too good to be true. I think that is why a lot of fans are on the fence with him. His intangibles are mind boggling good. But if he’s so good why isn’t he in the conversation for a top 2 pick?
Reed would not be asked to create his own shots. He would be asked to help with creating shots for others and making(not just taking) open shots.
