As I stated originally, Im just speculating in the sense that if Stone is a giant Zionest.

 

Zion loves food more than basketball.

 

I'm hoping for Simons and #7 for #3.

But Ime likes physical perimeter defenders and Smart was a favorite of his. Add Smart and the top 10 defense gets better, particularly with Adams, Smart, Tari on the 2nd unit.

With this said they really need to find a couple of guys that can shoot the ball this off-season. I think Simons can be a bucket getter to break runs and that his best basketball is ahead of him.

Smart's one of the 5 best defensive PG's in the league.

I would move Sengun for Williamson.

Ingram is the 3rd best player on a championship team.

A Sengun for Zion trade will boost the food and beverage business in Houston. That would be the positive result of such trade.

 

It's a risk, but give me Zion, last game he played in the playoffs he scored something like 40 points. Yes he's an injury risk but he wouldn't be on the market if he wasn't an injury risk.

Before I did the trade I would fly to New Orleans with my nutritionist and find out if he's serious enough about basketball to change the way he lives and more importantly eats. If the answer is basketball is the most importnt thing in my life other than my maker and my family, then I would easily make the trade. If I got a bad vibe then I would pass. But make no mistake, Zion is an elite talent. He could be a young version of Barkley.

 

No Zion. Yes to BI if it is reasonable on the trade and extension front.

 

And he lasted less than one playoff series before getting injured.

True. But FVV is also very underrated defensively and is definitely in my top 10 for his position.

 

Like I said, if there wasn't a risk he wouldn't be available. That's why I would sit down with my nutritionist and have a heart to heart talk. Careers are made or fail over decisions like this. However if you hit you're a GM legend.

 

What's appealing about Zion is he's still young and he can get a bucket when you really need a bucket. What do you think about my young Barkley comparison for Zion?

 

Zion is talented.
Alp is younger and is arguably better now with a high upside that is more likely to be reached than Zion.
I take a Jokic clone over a Barkley clone every day of the week
