One of my CF goals is to get added to your list to grab a beer with... Although I would probably drink an Old Fashioned or a find a 40 oz

Yea I really want Monk. 4 or 5 years and whatever we can pay him in sending Brooks to Sac would be great.

Thunder fire the first shot in the WC arms race. Great trade. Giddy’s rookie scale deal coming to an end (like Jalen), they weren’t gonna pay him, they made a wise decision to trade him for one of the best defensive guards in the league, who also happens to be an excellent 3pt shooter. They are a contending team and don’t need more picks or young prospects. This trade makes too much sense for OKC. Chicago should have gone for the picks. They’ll be in the lotto again next yr.

    Sadly and unfortunately, Presti owns.

Brad Stevens, Sam Presti, Riley, … some GMs are just so far ahead of everyone else.

“Wait, they got that for just that?! Holy ****!”

Caruso for P.Giddey? Another Presti masterclass.

Don't make it sound like Presti is getting over big time. He used the 6th pick on Giddey. Then dealt him (and whatever else) away for a role player.

Good for us in a few ways--takes any stupid trades for Caruso off the table, makes the Thunder older, and gets rid of one of their young core (to the east) who is on the same timeline as ours.

Remember that Caruso is already over 30. He helps the Thunder right now, but we're not serious contenders for at least a couple more years.

Giddy sucks and was a huge liability in the playoffs. Thunder are still one of the youngest teams even with this swap.

I'm the lowest on him out of their young core, but he does still have some real skills and offensive potential. Anyway, at worst this trade doesn't affect us (Caruso will be washed or nearly washed by the time our window opens up). At best, if Giddey maximizes his potential, the Thunder just gave away a valuable young player for a veteran roleplayer.

Very good for us in that it sets a super high trade value transaction comp for Jalen and other 2021 class guys like Kuminga etc. who are all clearly better / more appealing than Giddey. (If Jalen were to be traded, not saying I want him to be).

Giddey brought back Caruso, who the Bulls recently reportedly turned down a couple firsts for?

IMO in any negotiation, the Rockets can point to this transaction and say "Giddey brought back a guy worth a couple firsts, so Jalen's (or whoever)'s fair market value is at least that and probably more."
