Yes but only if you would still meet the stupid number of active pitcher limits and so forth Plus, we really can't go down a pitcher right now Truth is, when Loper came back up last time he should have been put in the lineup and if he hit like he did the first time, left in the damn lineup and not sent back down in the first damn place
So, back-to-back seasons the Astros are facing the luckiest teams in MLB history. '23 -- Rangers with 10 players having career seasons '24 -- Mariners win 75% of 1-run games and never have an injured player And of course, in the meantime, Astros break the record for injuries, bad luck, and whatever else bad can happen. .
This game kind of sums up the season. A terrible team with only two hits in the game beats another sorry team with seven hits. Mariners and Rangers win, move ahead. The Astros have entered into the "past," years that we all remember well. Not recent years, but distant years.
Dudes, these guys are done. It's been staring us all in the collective face all year long. They don't have it...
Joe Espada is 9-24 in games decided by 2 runs or fewer. We are 24-16 in all other games. If the Astros were just a middle of the road 17-16 in such games, we would be 41-32, in a fight for the division. If we were winning close games at the same clip as all other games, we would be 20-13 in such games and a combined record of 44-29. The 6th best record in all of baseball. Espada would be hailed a success. But unfortunately he sucks. I've never seen a manager hire take down an organization in such quick fashion.
Reading between the lines, Brown has made it crystal clear that he's not fully in charge. There's still time, but this team hasn't given much reason for anyone to believe they are going on a run anytime soon. They're legit not good. I don't want them to be sellers at the deadline, but at the same time they've got to be realistic about their prospects for making the postseason. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Brown won't be allowed to make that call one way or the other. It feels like Crane has taken the reigns when it comes to running his team, and I don't think he really knows what he's doing.
While I don’t disagree with you we had some incredible luck in 2022 with our pitching staff pretty much staying injury free and having career years so as painful as it is this year I’m resigned to “it happens”…….
Watching it should make you feel better because its one of the few things I can think of that is even worse than the Astros.
