NBA definitely dragged this one out Couldn't we have at least had a game every second day? What a boring finals. Rest in pieces Luka & Mavs (and Cuban)
Congratulations to the Boston Celtics. I always felt they had a chance of winning because of their superior defense. Kristaps came up big, when he was fit.
Is this the most understated championship in the recent years? Nobody is talking about the Celtics. The media tried to hyped up Jaylen Browns accomplishment but it didn't stuck. Last years story was The Joker. This year it was Luka.
The finals were mostly boring. Too many rest dates, so you just forget the NBA finals are happening. Plus, Dallas was outmatched, so there was no real competition.
Gotta Grow the League Luka at least can grow in Europe Jaylen and Jason are not doing much even here Rocket River
The scheduling killed a lot of momentum. Both conference finals were over early and then they took a week off for a prolonged gentleman's sweep. For all of Adam Silver's talk about wanting coverage of the NBA to rival the NFL he doesn't understand that it's a fundamentally different product. The NFL owns Sundays and only has 17 games. The NBA can't sustain interest in its own finals for 2+ weeks (if it goes 7 games) because that's way too long. Never mind that the league has allowed ESPN to kill any semblance of uniqueness when it comes to the Finals: we don't see any player intros, no special branding on the court, ads ****ing everywhere, and a half-assed television production make everything feel underwhelming. I understand that we all think the past was better because we were younger, but the NBC game presentation in the 1990s told a story. You got to hear Bob Costas laying out the stakes for the teams, not individuals, before iconic music and Jordan coming out to Sirius. Now you get Doris Burke fawning over an individual player while a 14-year-old Black Eyed Peas song takes you to the same commercial you've watched on repeat for two months. Then the game finally starts and the Celtics are wearing black at home because Silver has allowed Nike to crank out an infinite number of jerseys that ruin the aesthetics of what are supposed to be all-time Finals moments. Just an all-around awful experience.
Snooze series, yawn. The only thing entertaining about it was seeing Luka get roasted by the media. The schedule maker needs to be tarred and feathered.
Didn't mind the Celtics winning and the east teams can mald about it, but yeah sh*t finals and sh*t playoffs. And it's all downhill from here. No more NBA on TNT, two more teams (Vegas/Seattle) to dilute the product, and Silver and the networks piss-poor handling of the sport just to squeeze every last cent.
