I can remember a time when posters didn't want to trade Harden for Brown. Whoever those posters were, their opinions shouldn't be taken seriously.
Seems that all the old A list actors and actresses all have between 300-500 million dollars. So even though it sounds like a lot to everyday Americans with average salaries, amongst the powerful and influential people, even a billion dollars is seen like a foot note amongst themselves. So the elite of the elite sports athletes, firmly believe they are due their share of the adults table.
There are similarities offensively between the two, but Cam has a long way to go to ever become the defensive player Jaylen Brown is. A lot of defense is WANT TO and I don’t see that in Cam.
I do. I don't think he was comfortable on defense... afraid of making mistakes, not sure where to be, etc... But I saw a lot of trying and effort. Not every minute he was on the floor.... but most of them. Will he make all defensive team? I haven't seen any of THAT yet but he is still a teenager.
The Fitness of the Celtics players and not getting tired late in the 4th Quarter really has stood out. Very happy for Jaylen Brown and the Players.
I consider Brown to be a top 10 guy. He can get buckets on his own late in games and the thing that makes him a top 10 guy is he plays great defense.
What about top 20. On ESPN's top 100 list past summer, Brown was #19. I suspect after this year's finals, he'll be moving up. On that same list they had Luka at #4, who I think will drop. Brown is a two way player, he's not being hunted by the Mavs in the finals. The 'can't go left' has not been a thing this series. Yet on Mavs, like Gafford and Lively, one-way-Luka is being hunted over and over by the Celtics. Hunting Luka on defense is what we, CFers, have been saying in regular season game threads for years. It's deliciously evil to see Mazzulla play this out on the grandest stages of them all. I've been pro Harden back then, but in the unlikiehood Brown was available, some of us seriously considered trading for him. The other threads popping for James was Simmons and Herro.
