As someone that has dealt with this for 10 + years, in terms of scrubbing power we use the sigma (it is commercial grade). But we also have a 60-70K gallon pool that is a pain in the ass to clean. None of them will do leaves that great the M600 was probably just as good but the sigma is the only one that has scrubbed ours we enough to not need the pool guy
I did contact them. They admitted their mistake (how the heck does this even happen? "Oh sorry, we sent you a used item when you paid $2k for a new one") and have shipped a new one (hopefully it will be new this time). To make up for what they did, they are including 2 x "clarifying agent" and extending the warranty to 4 years (that might be the most useful part of the outcome of this). I ran the first one they sent once, and instead of coming to the surface to be picked up, it died on the floor of the pool. Hopefully the new one will work as advertised. In theory, it seems perfect for what I need.
Glad to hear they resolved their mistake! Hopefully the new replacement works as expected; especially returning to the surface for pick up. I'm still curious what the runtime is on a single charge.
I don't know what you say is reasonably priced, but we have a Dolphin Nautilus. We've had it a year and its amazing. It IS corded, so you'd have to deal with that, but its amazing how fast it cleans the pool and gets all the junk out. We have the CC plus. There's a wifi enabled and non wifi enabled one. I think they're $600-700. We bought it through our pool guy and he was able to get a better price than Amazon or Leslie's for us, while he still made a little money too since he had a wholesale account somewhere. I debated getting the caddy for it, but its not too heavy for me. You have to sort of hold it over the pool and let the water drain out to more easily lift it out to clean it. I think the biggest drawback is the cord for it is getting a little flaky/brittle. I might have to replace it next year and I think its $100. It's my fault though. You're supposed to store it out of the pool and sun when not using, but I'm lazy and always just leave it in the pool.
How much water a day do you guys lose on a hot Texas summer day? Is about 1/2 an inch on a 14k pool sound reasonable or a little much?
Fill a bucket with water and leave it by the pool one day. If they both lose the same amount of water, you're good. If the pool loses a lot more, you got a leak. If the bucket loses a lot more, I dunno.
You have to put the bucket in the pool at roughly the same level as the water I'm assuming right? My pool is gunite, pebble tech, and only 3 years old. So I really would hope there's no leak happening, but I do feel like the past week as it's gotten hotter it is losing a ton of water. Didn't have issues with it all winter and spring though so I'm assuming its just the heat wave, but yeah i'll do the bucket test today, and see what I see. Thanks.
I would put it right next to the pool and trust the results. I used to worry about that until I did the test. Giving the pool some shade will help with evaporation.
Needs to be partially submerged on a step, water level in bucket as close to pool level as possible, so the water temp is the same as the pool
Yup. Pretty accurate. We had a leak I caught with this. 4 leak specialists, 1 scammer recommended by another scammer that never came to do the job (pool people are slimy as **** in general so be careful) I ended up fixing it myself with 10$ after 4 months. Again as I’m pretty sure as evident and a trend, almost never build a pool, and if possible avoid owning one in general. Just a headache
Buddy of mine got tired of fighting his Polaris cleaner and bought one of these, taking it for its maiden voyage today: https://beatbot.com/pages/aquasense-pro
Yeah, that's the one I also bought (see posts above). Waiting for the new one...I hope it will be good. Will report back.
As a pool enthusiast but non-pool-owner, I glossed over many of the posts in this thread. I'll let you know in a few days what the local report is. eta @AroundTheWorld: just read your posts, and I can assure you that my buddy's contraption did not arrive used, scratched, and still full of water. Why didn't you send it back?
After some back and forth, the Beatbot company admitted their "mistake", sent me a new one (this time, it is new), is giving me four years warranty on the new one, and also sent me two units of the "clarifying agent" to make up for their mistake. The old one was picked up by Fedex today, and I put the new one into the pool for the first time. From what I can see, did a fantastic job in three hours - cleaned everything, no debris left. 50 % battery left. Also, didn't "die on the floor", but came up to the surface at the end, as advertised. Very pleased by its first tour of duty. Sidenote: I also had bought version 3 of "Eightsleep" - but never bothered to open the boxes because I was busy. A few months later, they came out with a much improved version 4. I ordered it and asked if they can take version 3 back. Took a lot of back and forth, but they are doing it and refunding me. Very pleased. Sometimes persistence pays off.
Good to hear Beatbot made it right and the new unit works as expected. Seems like decent battery life too! Eightsleep?!? Living large my friend! I couldn't afford that and ended up with BedJet3 dual zone instead.
The first thing I saw when I opened this website was "save $400!" All of these robot cleaners are SO EXPENSIVE.
