Lets focus on the 2024/25 season. For clarity, its entirely possible no one gets replaced, so you have that option in the voting . If all our starters come out of the gate strong, then certainly there is a plausible scenario where this occurs. Unlikely, but all 5 of them might be replaced (5 votes allowed). But maybe a trade occurs for 1 starter. Maybe 2. Maybe someone is released. Maybe someone is demoted. So, just pointing out there are a number of ways some guy(s) may lose their starting role.
Absent a major trade, the only big move I could see happening at the beginning of the year is Amen replacing Dillion Brooks in the starting lineup. But I could also see Brooks remaining the starter. I, personally, would roll with a starting lineup of FVV / Green / Amen / Smith / Sengun. As for the season at large, I have no idea how to answer that. Too many variables at play.
Amen shouldn't start next season if he remains as a complete non-shooter. But if he is shooting something like 25-30% with 2-3 attempts a game... then he definitely has to start instead of Dillon. Hope Sengun improves his 3pt shooting, that would make things so much easier.
Hard to answer because we don’t know the TEAM’S goal. This is Stone’s defining moment. How much control is he going to exercise. My guess is he kept Green in the starting line up throughout last year. (A player doesn’t get benched every game and start the next one; that is a head scratcher) So there is someone pulling strings other than coach. Interesting, I look forward to the draft because that will also be telling.
I would not be shocked because injuries do force your hand so to speak.....nobody knows for sure, maybe Brooks goes on an Olympics run and scores 39 again..... Totally confused about the Olympics taking place this year......
I feel like if we just draft a guard and do nothing else we are 3 deep at every position Am I crazy to think that?
If Jalen is 50% of the player he was in March we are a 50-win team. Hopefully it'll be 100% and then we're borderline contenders.
You are not crazy but I still do not think the wing players are there yet.....you basically have a foul prone Brooks and slew of babies and young players. If everything shakes out you are in the running of winning 49-50 wins but that is mostly to having Udoka ..... You have to substract your star coach and then imagine how much the team wins (gauge the real strength of the roster)
Boston is a good example of a team not being the deepest but having great starters in history ....with a decent but not great coach Tatum-Brown-Jrue-White-Porzingis or Horford. Rondo-Pierce-Ray- KG- Perkins D. Ainge · L. Bird · D. Johnson · K. McHale · R. Parish
If a trade happens it is 90% dependent on who is available. For a superstar I think they would happily replace the 1 to 4 and they would be willing to move Sengun to the 4 if they miraculously landed a JJJ type of elite rim protector with 3PT range. Assuming a fringe all star type impact player, I think they would be willing to replace Brooks. If a regular all star (top 30 impact) then maybe Jabari too (not the I agree with this). Any less than that I don’t think anyone is getting benched or traded. I get a starting feeling they love this unit and would not hate to run it back with major bench upgrades via draft and fa. Adding Adams to the bench I promise you will make that bench unit led by Amen and Cam elite which by itself could add 2-3 wins for us.
Without any upgrades I think the Rockets could add 5 wins this year just based on growth of the 6. That makes them 46-36 10 games over .500. That is definitely a playoff team.
Jalen is the odd man out not just with the starters but on the entire time. His outlook and demeanor just don't fit with the professional nature of Udoka and Co. Hopefully Ime has been entrenching himself more with Tilman so he can just bypass Stone's obsession for flawed SGs.
Just to make the play-in, not the playoffs, we will need to be better than at least one of these teams. To make the playoffs, we will need to be better than all of them. Phoenix Suns Los Angeles Lakers New Orleans Pelicans Sacramento Kings Golden State Warriors
Fans want Brooks replaced, gone, traded so I get why he’s winning the vote but why does anyone think Ime is going to replace him? Might as well say/vote for Fred. Most likely -> least likely to be replaced Jalen Bari (when he talks about the team being soft) Sengun Dillon Fred Amen replaced Sengun when Sengun went out and played that offensive center rim runner/dunker role, not Brooks, not Jalen, not Jabari. “Soft”, “scared”, “didn’t want to play”, “habits are hard to break”, he wasn’t talking about Fred or Dillon or Sengun(wasn’t playing). https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/ime-udoka-says-rockets-looked-soft-or-scared-in-loss-to-warriors.322852/ https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...s-looked-like-they-didnt-want-to-play.322908/
