Coach, you're right he didn't start, but he finished and arguably that's more important (esp in close games).
This sounds like San Antonio trying to plant a seed to throw Houston off of Shep. Don't fall for it Stone.
Exactly this. So many people comparing him to Jimmer, JJ Reddick, someone even said Pablo Prigioni, while others brought Steve Novak into the discussion. His detractors initially said he was a poor defender and athlete, and the list goes on. The truth is if he was even half-Black then suddenly he becomes a no-brainer top 2 prospect. Athletic high IQ elite shooter who is a plus on D … sounds a lot better than Scoot who like you said this board creamed their pants over last offseason.
Knowing SA wants Reed, I hope we draft him just to piss off the Spurs. I rather Wemby not have a high IQ 40%+ 3-point shooter next to him.
And is shorter than Shepherd and can't shoot - and has a way worse BBall IQ.....especially on D. Shepherd is a no brainer - good pro.....don't know where he will end up, but he is going to be good, whomever takes him. Doubters all along the way and always comes out on top. DD
That's not true. I have a very good argument. Even you can look at our squad and not find minutes for Sheppard. It wouldn't do him any favors to be drafted at #3 and be sent to the G-league. It's just not a good look. But if they were to trade down to let's say 9-11 and that player went to the G-league it wouldn't look as bad.
I'm no mind reader, but good ball players that play the right way love to play with other good ball players that play the right way. Sengun, FVV, Amen and Tari play the right way. Bari is pretty close as well. Cam has some work to do, but showed some promise at the end of the season. I'd bet our core is more appealing than SAS to Shep. The HC piece could have some sway, but Pops is on the downside, while Ime is rising.
Are we really going to make this a race thing DD? So African American players don’t get criticized. Gotcha. Man that’s stupid.
I do think it is something he needs to get better at to be an elite player, but he's not 'bad' at finishing. (I know you didn't call him a bad rim finisher also) He finished making almost 60% of his shots at the rim: That's pretty good, but not elite.
On the last page but he says it wasn't for me. I know better. It's cool though. I've already cried about it so back to disagreeing with y'all about Sheppard.
So your biggest concern about Sheppard is the awful game planning that got John Calipari run out of town?
