What a weird little strawman..... What I said is that Amen isn't going to start AT THE PG spot over them.....because he's not until he learns how to shoot a basketball. I said nothing about Giannis or Magic LOL. (Another example of dishonesty on your part BTW) When you have a point forward like Amen who can't shoot a basketball, you have to counter balance that with guards who can shoot. Right now FVV and Cam are pretty much the only quality shooters on the team but they could add Sheppard as a 3rd. Amen isn't starting at PG if FVV is with the team, Amen isn't starting at PG if Sheppard is with the team. Amen has positional flexibility, so he'd technically start at the 3 so the team could counter his lack of shooting ability with guards who can shoot. I'm sure if you think about it for a second or two, you'll realize that's just the truth.
"A player who can't shoot the basketball will never be the most talented player on his team" Who is being dishonest here? So you admit you are wrong or are still gonna be dishonest? Also Amen literally started for 17 games over Aaron Holiday who could shoot the 3 and is a pg. You are already wrong and been proved wrong before you made your post.
Oh, well that's still true. With Magic Johnson, it was a VERY different era...the league 3 point % during his career was like 31%....also, it's not that he couldn't shoot, he just didn't develop his 3 till REALLY late in his career. He was a career 86% FT shooter. So you mentioning him kind of just shows you don't know his game. As to Giannis, no, he'll never be the most talented person on any team. The most physically gifted? Sure, but nowhere near the most talented.
Who is being dishonest now? Being physically gifted isnt being talented? Shooting is a skill not a talent.
No, it's not the same thing. Being 6"11 with super long arms isn't a "talent", you can get into an old school freak show that way, but not a talent show.
Exactly so why do you think Giannis has no talent when he won MVPs and championships if just being physically gifted just makes him a freak? You are literally arguing with yourself. Stop being dishonest.
Winning awards and being on teams that happened to win has nothing to do with individual talent. That's not to say he isn't a good player, he's just not a talented player, he gets by mostly on his freak measurables and athleticism....hence his nickname. Surrounding a freak show with talented passers and shooters is a solid strategy to win and it worked once for the Bucks before they were done.
So you think you can be an NBA superstar literally the best in world with zero talent? He is more than just "being on the team that happened to win" he is the Finals MVP, B2B MVP and their most important player. In fact Giannis is consensus among the top 20 best players in the world and you think he has no talent? You're just being dishonest and you know it. Whats ironic is you accuse others of being dishonest when they state facts (ie Sheppard was a bench player in college) but then you go and say dumb **** like Giannis has no talent.
I think anyone can win any award with the right media narrative and push. As to his team happening to win, if you don't surround him with elite shooters, his team has no chance... so it's not really a him winning scenario, it's a team accomplishment, not an individual accomplishment. I get it though, you think measurables are "talent". They still aren't, but we're just never going to see eye to eye on this one. It's similar to believing being born wealthy is a talent.
What does his team winning have to do with Giannis being talented or not? Nobody can win by himself. The team winning is obviously a team accomplishment, him being MVP is his own individual accomplishment. You are literally trying to argue you can be one of the best players in history without any talent. Just stop you sound so dumb rn.
Sorry my guy, I get that you don't get it, but you can be one of the best players on physical gifts alone with very little talent just like a person who inherits enough money can be one of the wealthiest people on the planet with next to no talent when it comes to business. It's okay if you don't understand, but that's just the way it is.
No **** sherlock being talented at business and being wealthy aren't even related. You realize you can be wealthy thru other means besides business right? Tiger Woods didn't become a billionaire thanks to his business acumen. How is that the same as you claiming Giannis has no talent when he is considered one of the best players in the world? How can you claim Giannis just gets by on his freak measurables and athletecism when you also said being 6'11 doesn't make you good at basketball? There are lots of 6'11 players who are extremely athletic how come they aren't superstars like Giannis? I'm done you are literally grasping at straws.
2 more weeks till the actual NBA draft. Only 2 more weeks of regurgitated posting and analysis. Finally, in 2 weeks we get something substantial to talk about. Hail June 26th and all that it may bring!
I really want Green to succeed, because having his dynamism as our SG would be perfect (if he can become consistent while continuing to grow his game). However, I do think the situation is more complex than just his consistency or game. He's young, handsome, rich, and has interests outside of the sport. Nothing wrong with any of that, Lord knows I wish I had those blessings. Where those become a problem is in how you process, handle, and manage those gifts and then how they relate to and impact your profession. Ideally, if Jalen is going to level-up, I'd love him to be a more vocal leader, I'm just not sure that's his personality. How he comes into camp and starts Season 2 with Coach Ime will likely be monitored closely by Stone and potential trade partners that see his gifts and believe a change of scenery is what he needs. If he's traded before the season, then we'll have our answer, Call me surprised if he's traded before the season.
