Positives Framber and hunter looked good, Chaz is coming back to life, altuve is heating up, Alvarez is red hot, and we won the series.
Pressly needs a change of scenery. I know he has a no trade clause but also has teams wanting him (and probably thinking they can steal a good value) Tell him he won't get his 50 appearances here and he will agree to a trade. Addition by subtraction, and open some payroll for a 1B so they can just eat Abreu's salary w/o going over the 2nd CBT tier.
How did he not ****ing catch that?! I didn't see it live. That's not on Hader, that ball was in his ****ing glove until it wasnt!
Miller does a lot - you can already see the improvement in some of the younger pitchers and Verlander and Valdez swear by him. The problem isn’t the pitching coaches. The only coaching issue is when Espada chooses to use him or not use him. Pressly has repeatedly walked the first guy or given up an extra base hit to the first guy and then spends the rest of the inning trying to get out of the hole he created to start the inning. Whatever… I know he is the second best post season reliever in history, but so far he has made mistakes young pitchers make. At some point the Astros will end up getting a reliever or not using him if this keeps up.
Man, we took 2 of 3 but we should have taken the series. It just feels like were cursed this year, all the good mo-jo from the last few years is gone and this just sucks.....I should be happy for 2 out of 3 but it feels like we keep losing games we should have friggin won...........I am spoiled but come on man. My man JV may have had father time finally come tap in on the shoulder, but I love that dude and hope he rebounds.
TWO of 3 doesn't mean much when you've been swept 5x in 2 months -- I consider losing a 4-gamer a gentleman's sweep (series @ SEA was awful and divisional). The outcome of those series is 1-16 in the standings.
It doesn't feel like something that should be celebrated when we blew the lead multiple times in a very winnable game. I agree. The Astros have done this **** all year though. I keep hoping for better results but this team keeps rinse and repeating the same old bullshit.
Has anyone yet asked why Cabbage was in left and Chas in right? Trey has played nearly twice as much in right as left in the minors and has the better arm. I realize this is hindsight, but I would have expected that switch, and Chas to make that play.
This is Brown's fault for not giving Pressly at least little more money because he got demoted despite having 30+ Saves last year. Mentally, Pressly does not have that fire. Looking back what he said he didn't wholeheartedly agree to be a setup guy, but he only agree as a team player.
