It is worth mentioning that Curry played with a shorter 3 point line. For his first 2 years it was 19' 9", and then I believe it was 20' 9" for his third year at Davidson. It is currently 22' 1.75"
Yes, I do. That's why I listed current players with similar strengths and weaknesses to Sengun. Because even veteran stars are allowed to have weaknesses, let alone 21 year olds just getting their careers established. You'd think a Rockets fan would understand that a talented low post center needs good shooters around him and not necessarily be expected to be a shooter himself, but I suppose it is a new era of basketball. If you want to put Sengun on the hook for lack of range, go ahead. No one can stop you. I'm sure he's really feeling the heat.
How does he end up with 12 p per contest on 52% shooting. Seems very weird that he is not confident in scoring like the big boys. If you shoot like that and average 5 attempted treys a game, you should average 16 at the very least. Steph's driving game is underrated, he doesn't always shoot threes.
He didn't get the most playing time and he wasn't the primary option he is perfect for a future sixth man or PG role. DD
That is why was pondering to watch him in the grown men's game and handling heavy usage..... if he is indeed an All Star in the making. The games have to be played instead of posters preaching surreal stuff every day.
The team didn't feature him very often to their detriment. Basically any time they ran something for Sheppard, it worked really well then they just wouldn't go back to it...instead trying to get the inside game going or trying to feature other guards that were lesser talents. If you watch the games, it's pretty absurd actually....and it's why the coach got run out of town.
have we had any player workouts yet, or have any dates been released for who we’re bringing in over the next couple weeks?
The Ol' Coach Cal "recruit a bunch of 5* every year and try to keep all the kiddies happy with only 1 basketball before they go to the draft or transfer" strategy.
Well good news for the Sheppard fans….looks like the Rockets showed their hand today by not re-signing Holliday. Appears a point guard opening just occurred. I love the fact that we can choose from Edey, Clingan, Richardi?, and Sheppard. All four look like great picks to me. Still think Edey is the gem, but understand the narrative will drop him 10 spots, so realistically it is the other 3 who each have impressive film. Appears the Rockets with today’s move have made their call.
Rockets didn’t do anything. No one can become a free agent until June 30 (or July 1st). It was Kelly Iko’s opinion they will not bring back Holiday, just like it was his opinion that they should start Bruno Fernando, just like his opinion to love Matas Buzelis just like his opinion to make fake terrible trades.
I think he is referring to an article @The Cat published today which picks up on Kelly Iko's speculation.
Devin Carter averaged 9 rebounds as a 6'2 guard. Something that Reed Sheppard will never do. He put up 20 and 9 on the champion Huskies. Reed Sheppard wasn't even a starter. Stop playing games. Devin Carter is a sure thing WHO WILL PLAY IMMEDIATELY. Reed Sheppard is a dream scenario who will be 2 years in the making. Even then Carter will be his worst nightmare.
I haven't watched this game, but is there a reason to watch a game from over a year ago? I don't know if this was meant to be a Carter vs Sheppard thing, but Sheppard was still in HS then of course. I don't even think Carter had a great game looking at the stats (and they lost). I do think Carter had some great games against UCONN and others. I do like him, but given he's older than Edey and some other college seniors, I do think he's probably got a somewhat limited ceiling. He should be ready to contribute right away like you said though.
