My concern is that the Jets defense will be more amped and itching to take off CJs head on that crap turf at MetLife stadium. He's already been concussed there and we don't need to give them any more motivation.
CJ is that dude, talk his **** then back it up. Where would Floyd "Money" Mayweather be without smack talk? Probably not Floyd Mayweather anymore. It's all about talking smack and then backing it up on the field. MJ does it, Anthony Edwards etc.
There are plenty of people that were humble and won. MJ didn’t run his mouth in public, on court he did. And don’t put Edwards in that category, he has a long way to go to even be in Luka territory
If this ever becomes a problem I will be near the front of the line to pile on. Until then, I do not care. It's just a bit different these days for players, with the socials/podcasts/etc... Also I think it's funny that he's catching the most stuff here for one throwaway thing he said about Aaron Rodgers, who hasn't been able to stop saying idiotic things for 3-4 years or so.
Chris Simms talked about that. Like how different the motions and mechanic's are. Said you could tell CJ was really good at Football bc of how bad he threw a baseball.
Talk that ****, CJ. Talk it all day and all night, but make sure you deliver the goods on field next season. There will be no excuses or places to hide. I'm ok with someone daring to be great and putting themselves out there, but like I said, he better be ready to back it up because the NFL is an alpha dog league and they are listening. Game on!
Yall worried about CJ talking his **** as if he didn't just have one of the best rookie seasons as a QB. The world is way too PC nowadays. Don't want to ruffle feathers or hurt feelings. Nah eff that, if you got it then you got it. Talk your stuff
I agree with you, CJ has earned the right. But for many of us, we admired the grateful, humble kid who came into the League. When you're great, let your play on the field do your talking for you. Humility is becoming a lost virtue these days.
I can definitely see why people dont like it because you want the humble quiet superstar (at least portrayed that way in the media). I think it's just him being on the podcast circuit, worldwide tour thanks to several sponsors, and being only 22. Most QBs drafted into the league are already 22. This is kind of new territory now in the 2020s with all the podcasts being viable alternatives now. As long as he isn't outright disrespectful, then it's harmless. I'd be more worried if CJ went the Jalen Green route and started having multiple baby mommas.
Again I agree with you. And I realize doing this is getting him more exposure and more money. I am just hoping his inner core values don't begin to erode as we've seen with so many who have experienced instant fame and money. He doesn't need to be quiet and aloof like AJ, or almost too nice like JJ. CJ is a good kid and I just hope that never changes.
