I've been a little bit wary of the Spurs getting Clingan for a while now. With Wemby wanting to play PF from the get-go, having Clingan at center would be a nightmare.

Even if you take Jimmer's entire college career (I would have expected Reed's numbers to go up, had he stayed in college), Jimmer was not close to being the 3-point shooter and defender Reed is.

If you want to compare apples to apples, compare their freshman seasons. No point in comparing an 18 year old freshman to a 22 year old senior who spent four years in college.

my only issue with Risacher is that he can’t create. We already have a guy like that in Jabari. I’m all for getting another long shooter, but I do see some redundancy, I guess if we are keeping Sengun and Jalen (our only guys who can really create their own shot), maybe it’s okay to add another straight 3&D role player… but ideally you’d like a player with star potential at #3

 

There aren't any. At 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or anywhere else in the draft. So ideal doesn't apply this time round.

I mostly agree with you, but one of the reasons i warmed up to risacher is that he has a little bit better self creation and handles than Jabari. He's got some things on film that shows he's got some real untapped potential there. When he does use his handle or try to create shots it looks quite a bit more fluid than Jabari.



Thats a really short highlight video but in the few instances there where he dribbles the ball you can see hes got a bit better handle and body control than Jabari does who still looks like a baby deer at times. Risacher has better ball handling clips out there but just wanted to post a short video.

And not to **** on Jabari, i think hes going to be a really good player. I just think theres a decent chance Risacher will be a bit different by being a more versatile offensive player.

If I'm in the Wizards' position I think I take Castle if Sarr is off the board? They really need creation, defense, and a guy where you can at least dream on the upside. Reed is the kind of safe pick that you make toward the end of a rebuild, not at the beginning.

 

We've been rebuilding for years.
