Sengün is his own mold, quicker than Jokic, less athletic than Hakeem, but great IQ and bball skills. He is as creative as young Harden and Tmac were......I dug that.
No problem with that, but yeah governments are like this but personally I would have vaccinated myself even without governmental propaganda. I think it depends on how severe the spread was in that specific area......
I agree in general … but it is helpful to know which people cannot understand basic statistics when reading their opinions about analytically-based sports topics.
Tilman and Kyrie would have made an awesome batshit crazy couple. The brainfarts that escape the vacuum of their collective heads would have been worth it for the laughs alone.
Yes, I'm sure Green will be top 5....but I'm high on all the kids I projected the Rockets to pick. I said pick ______ before the draft: Jalen Green Jabari Smith Tari Eason Cam Whitmore I don't want to lose any of them. I looked back and saw in 2022 that I was pushing for Dereck Lively (in the finals as a rookie) and Kel'el Ware (scored a perfect score of 100 at the combine) I pushed for Amen Thompson a year or so before we drafted him.....I backed off of him near the draft because he can't shoot (in a day and era when shooting reigns supreme) and Tilman Fertitta said we are in win now mode. JG4 / Cam Whitmore / Amen / Tari / Jabari are the NBA's version of Michigan Fab - 5. NBA's Phi-Slamma-Jamma Green= lesser version of MJ/Kobe, but better career than Beal/Booker/LaVine Cam Whitmore= beast, gets that body momentum going towards the rim and players make business decisions ............................and get the h*** out of the way. Shot 3's. Udoka system will get him to pass more. Amen= Arrest, premier rebounder, good roll-man in PnR, perfected the "Dunker-Spot" role. Needs to work on shooting. Tari= Denis Rodman engine that never stops, gets a ton of steals, deflections, offensive rebounds, in ..........total a rebound magnet, tap backs, tip in's, passes, can shoot some 3's. Jabari = Rashard Lewis, 6'10" players that can shoot 3's in this day and era are extremely valuable as team ..............cheat their defenders towards the paint, high release makes it more difficult to have shot altered. ..............more often you will see the 6'0" player have their shot altered. All we have to do is sprinkle in some more consistent 3-pt shooters for spacing. We have the rebounding, and facilitators and defense.
I really like that you believe in this group this much. I look at them as a group of young guys that can't shoot straight to save their lives.
Only Boston had a better ORtg than the Rockets in those final 20 games. If I'm not mistaken the defense started the season around #5 but then dropped to my preseason prediction of 9th.....but when Sengun went down, the switch everything made their assignments easier. Jalen Green didn't hAve to think as much.....just react. All the players in fact. I have to check the stats but I think the team got to 3rd before fatigue set in and dropped them to around 10th (for the season) Sengun I had as Pau Gasol. Heard others in the NBA say the same. But I put Sengun with Embiid, Jokic, KAT.....plop-plop guys that are slower. Post up. Can shoot 3's (still waiting on Sengun). Gobert has lost so much weight to stay relevant. Teams are trying to play drop coverage to keep those dinosaurs in the game. But as more and more Lively and Kel'el Ware types come up the ranks.....it will be harder and harder to hide them. In the end, Dallas got to KAT and Gobert defensively on the perimeter. But I'm ok with Sengun for the regular season. Those guys are champions of the regular season. Posting up lighter guys to win MVP's. But the best well rounded teams go the furthest
If you know me, I always say the Embiid, KAT, Jokic usually can't get out of the second round. The exception was Jokic last year. But that Denver team used a similar model I like, multiple wings with height and wingspan. Aaron Gordon MP jr Jeff Green Braun Bruce Brown has been playing bigger for years. KCP is in the area at 6'5" They had the ability to go small, but with height. Taking out Jokic. This year they lost depth with the loss of Uncle Jeff and Bruce Brown. The Nuggets window might be closed as Jokic, Aaron Gordon, MPjr, Murray, contracts all keep raising. Same problem we had during Harden era. Eventually teams have to reset.
If Jokic/Murray are there and healthy their window will remain open. They are probably going to have to trade MPJ and if the do trade him the Rockets should be at the top of the list of teams wanting him. I would trade #3 and next years 1st for MPJ because he can do in spades the one thing this team is missing. Shoot the basketball.
Luka is blessed to have Kyrie in Dallas. Kyrie here wouldn't have worked out unless we had another player on Luka's level and more athletic defensive minded bigs.
That's the same role reserved for Jabari Smith. And Aaron Gordon would rather roll to the basket. But can shoot 3's. You see how that works? Guys space the floor so Jokic and Murray can direct the defense. 24/25 Denver Jokic,...........$51.4M Murray.........$36M MPjr............$35.9M KCP............$15.4M Team Salary $189.9M That's without DeAndre Jordan and Justin Holiday Stars now surrounded by guys like Braun, Peyton Watson and Cancar Yeah, it's over, Stick a Fork in them
The Rockets dont have guys that can shoot anywhere near as good as the Nuggets. Depends on what they can get in a trade for MPJ. Also who they draft, if they could trade MPJ for Bruce Brown and say Cam johnson type guys and draft a guy who I think is very underrated Furphy they will be able to extend their window.
Not sure how anyone can say it's over for denver when they were easily the best team in the west till murray got injured. Does anyone actually think the wolves or mavs could beat a healthy nuggets team...?
Sure fella, and keep paying the tax penalty. Your fondness of Jokic has disrupted your thinking. Tax bill will do to the Nuggets as it does to all teams. Break them apart and be a shell of their former selves. LeBron and AD can be top notch in the league, but team salary diminishes the talent around them. It's hitting the Bucks now Sixers had to break things up and start over with Embiid, re-sign Maxey......add star.....then piecemeal a roster of scrubs around them. Suns are finding out it's not so easy.
Trade MPJ for say Eason and Landale and say Tate. That would give them a quality starter and 2 improved depth pieces. There are other teams they could also make a trade like this with and extend their window.
Sure thing raining threes Easy for Nuggets to break the bank and stay on top while every other team struggles to stay near the top of the hill. And the new CBA is written to prevent super teams. You taking away MPjr is taking away part of their identity. It can often be, taking two steps back to move one step forward. Half step forward. What looks good on paper can stink up in reality.
FVV was literally free. We weren't willing to give up assets at the time. Kyrie wanted money & to contend We couldn't offer the later at the time.
Plop plop Jokic won the ring last year, as part of a balanced team. Even Dream needed a balanced roster to win. Argue the reasons all you want but ring > your argument.
