Tatum's answer was actually really thoughtful -- you could even call it sweet.

Jabari’s self awareness and being able to set ego aside to ask that question is actually pretty lit. And the answer Tatum gave is a reward, a very strong acknowledgment from one of the game’s current top players.

And Tatum is right, people have no less than perfection in mind about a 20 year old’s beginning like he’s supposed to be the man from day 1. Discounting all the pretty exceptional things he already does along the way. And we’re supposed to be his fanatics? THAT is the sad part.

I like that he asked something where he really wanted to hear the answer. I wish more media members would do that, but that doesn't always generate the clicks.

Jabari ain't fooling anyone, hopefully Sengun takes Tatum's advice and strives to live up to expectations.....

Sounds like Jabari plans to make some noise next season. If he improves his strength, 3PT shot, handle and defense roughly as much as he did last season we’ll have an amazing PF. Loved the experience he got playing C at the end of the season that’s really going to round out his game.

Imagine if dude comes out shooting like 39% on 7-8 attempts and gives us around 18ppg and more fundamentally sound defense. Not that far fetched. That evolution alone can send us into the playoffs.

Big years coming up for Jalen and Jabari. They should help Sengun a lot more.

Man, Bari is so easy to root for. Him not being delusional is a positive sign. If he combines that with ambition he'll be an irreplaceable part of the team.

Jabari gotta realize he’s made a pretty big jump already! He was terrible as rookie and was much improved. Watch out if he makes another leap like that

You can’t help but root for Jabari. He’s coachable, wants to win and is determined to be a star. He check marks all the right boxes you want in a player on and off the court. But success doesn’t come overnight, even Kobe struggled his first couple of years and the bigger you are it usually takes more time to develop. I’m really looking forward to Jabari making a leap next year as he has the skills to succeed in his shot, rebounding and help defense. He doesn’t need to be a 20-10 type player but if he can get 15-9 on this team there’s no disputing he was the right pick and on track to being an all star type player by the time he’s in his prime. The two things he needs most is a little more weight and more confidence in his shooting to become consistent. Luckily both of those usually come with age and experience.
