I feel like the truth is that he definitely has some cognitive deterioration. He has a talented experience staff around him that knows how to deal with that and also navigate much of the political gamesmanship needed to accomplish some things.

At the same time, Biden despite some amount of loss isn't helpless. He has always had speech issues and probably requires more cognitive resources to deal with the stuttering and issues that he's had all of his life. But he still has the ability to think through issues. He still has the experience to know who to talk to and what to say. He is still probably in charge and doing things his way. I have no idea how quickly his cognitive ability will deteriorate. But it was always far greater than Trump's and still is. I feel like most people no matter what age, have great days, and bad days. The more tired and exhausted one is the more likely they are to make mental lapses or misspeak or confuse things that they would normally know. The job of President is a demanding one, and so obviously that will demand a price of Biden.

The thing is that most of the major decisions don't have to be made immediately in front of cameras and press. He can take his time and make whatever decisions he needs to make. Unlike Trump, he will actually take the time and investigate issues to help him make the decisions he feels are best. The idea that he's out there directing the DOJ to go after people is pure fantasy. He is probably briefed on what the DOJ is doing and may ask further questions about it.

The best thing Biden did was appoint competent advisors and people around him. His own experience, gut feelings on politics and ability to connect as well as a competent staff helps him get things accomplished.

In 2022 midterms many people were saying that Dems shouldn't play up on the Trump insurrection angle, and that abortion issues would only go so far, and the GOP was expected to make huge gains. Biden disagreed and despite what all the talking heads, and "experts" were saying, Biden came out and spoke primarily about those that attacked our capitol for Trump, and abortion issues. Biden was right in his judgment and it worked well for Democrats then.

Summary: Biden isn't at his peak. Biden still has a huge amount of experience and knowledge of how the political game is played to get things done, and can do that. He also has a very competent staff around him that are probably aware of all of this and are able to patch holes that need patching.

Wow, you've convinced me. I have no retort. I'm so glad you started a new thread for this, even though that compelling argument could have been posted in any of a dozen other threads. I might have missed it in the sea of inane talking. But you put it right up front, where everyone will be dazzled by the brilliance of your logic and will have no choice but to agree.

I agree with you 100%. I was reading the 1st and 2nd paragraph while literally thinking what you wrote in the 3rd. The President is basically the CEO of the Country. He lays out his vision and then puts competent people in the positions to execute. These people report back with the pros and cons then the President makes a decision. At least to me that is how it is supposed to be. I don't believe Biden wants yes people who will do what he wants without giving him the positive and negative of those actions.

Trump confuses stuff all the time. He confused Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi. He didn't just slip up and say Nikki's name one time and correct himself. He kept shouting "Nikki Haley". His speeches are a word salad. Yet the left rarely shows or capitalizes on this. Trump is in just as much of a cognitive decline as Biden, if not worse. Your average American is too busy to research anything. They get whatever opinions they have from whatever media they consume. They haven't the time nor desire to research why things are happening.

All these chain stores are coming out saying they are cutting prices now. Why? Because they were gouging the **** out of us and when people finally just started buying necessities they said "Oh ****. Guess we better stop that."

I really whish COVID had happened the 1st two years of Trump's presidency so he would have had to deal with the recovery and people would realize the next two years would have been exactly rhe same as Biden's first two years economically, if not worse.

There are legit reasons to be disappointed with Biden. But to suggest that Trump, who embarrassingly kissed up to dictators like Kim Jong und Putin before, after, and during his time in office, is the strong one is just... embarrassing.

If a cheater, overweight, draft dodger who the world laughs at, literally on the UN stage, is what is considered strong, I wish for only weak presidents.

If "you are either with me or you are with them" is strong, I also want no president with that mindset.

If acting decisively but rashly is strong, again, I'll pass.

Let's not forget it was Trump who said he believed Putin over the U.S. Intelligence Community. And it was Trump who gave Putin (you know..Iran's buddy) Top Secret Israeli Defense information.

So even if you believe "he's strong"..he's shown that he isn't very good when it comes to foreign affairs.
(unless you consider his cheating with a Slovenian Model to be a foreign affair)

Is it trolling when it is widely accepted that a a geriatric man incapable of wiping his own ass or needs to be herded by the Easter bunny is weak?

They're both geriatric lame ducks with nothing to lose except their dignity from an uncontrolled bowel movement.

    Everything is fine.

Except one of them is trying to usher in a wave of Christian Nationalism and gut federal rules and regulations in order to give private interests way more power.

Democrats don’t won’t Biden but this is the choice in 2024…. Biden or Trump. No amount of petulance will change that….

Third parties are impotent and they only have themselves to blame. We need third parties to actually govern and win… but that won’t happen until they actually focus on winning cities, states, seats in Congress, etc. Them putting for a presidential candidate is a joke and a waste of their resources but they do it every year.
