I know they’re not allowed to question the mental capabilities of certain players publicly…. But there is a distinct possibility that Yanier isn’t the smartest of players to ever don a baseball uniform. Not that you need to be a Mensa level brad Ausmus genius to play catcher… but if his intellect is the one thing that’s possibly made him tradeable or had people questioning his playing time last year… I’m not sure if thats entirely fixable. And no doubt his catching struggles are infecting his hitting and infecting back his catching.
More and more managers going to lefties against Yordan… used to be just what he wanted… hasn’t been the same this year, but its June now.
Then use the ******* electronic pitch signaling contraption, or just look into the dugout for the sign
Glad to see Espada sent Verlander out there for the 5th when he was at 90 pitches after 4 innings and is over 40 years old.. that really paid dividends. Good looking out Espada.
I’m just saying overall in general… like I’m sure they’ve tried to instill some hitting regimens for him or tried to figure out what’s bugging him in the head… but he’s just absolutely lost at the plate right now. And if they’re asking too much of him to process scouting reports, monitor pitchers mechanics, game-plan with pitchers etc…. Agreed, may have to simplify the entire process.
