That time of year (or 2 years) again. Electric plan is up, and every thing out their is ****. Current, have a plan where I get a $35 bill credit for 2000kw used. 10.8c rate for 2000kw used, 21c for 1000. For 8 months of the year, we use 2000+ easily. For 4 month, we will use between 1550-1900kw. Most of the time, bills are around $255-$300. The best rate I've seen for 2000kw is 14.0 and they tease you with $100-$150 Bill credit for using 2000kw. Again, the less than 2000kw rate is $.21c plus.

Which one of these would u do?

The first has that $150 bill credit at 2000kw, the other has not bill credit. The 4 months I don't hit 2000kw, I get a higher bill....but have a bill saving on when I do the other 8 months. The other 2 do not have large bill credit, but the rate is more even all year...also 2 and 3 years.

Usage in the Summer is between 2400-3000kw (last year was hot...but there is at least 1 or 2 months at 2800-2900kw. Lowest is 1550kw.

    Do you use spreadsheets?

In regards to your Usage, the numbers given aren't that precise.

Are you able to pull up your usage for the past 12 months and then indicate if adjustments need to be made up or down for the future?
27,400 KWh for the past 12 months?

I just got my renewal notice from Cirro Energy. I've been on a 3 year fixed plan with 10c, 10.5c, and 11c (500kw, 1,000kw, 2,000kw). Are these new rates for real? Looking at power to choose i'm seeing 20c+ for those 500kw months. I called Cirro and they offered me 15c for 1,000kw and 2,000kw months, with a special 13c between the hours of 8pm-8am. I don't have to renew until September. Are these rates going to get worse, or stay the same in that time period?

Electric prices are both seasonal and follow the natural gas market. So the best time to lock in a rate is when the weather is good (maybe September, maybe not), including in Europe because the natural gas pricing there affects the natural gas pricing here.

It’s going to suck overall until the Ukraine war is over and Europe startups buying Russian natural gas again.

Five months fell below the 2000 KWh Minimum (October, November, February, March, April).

There is an explanation of a spreadsheet for the calculations that I borrowed from.

    Are the calculations above correct?

I think so, but will defer to those who are or have been in the Electricity business.

I am not interested in going through all of the offerings to compare Plans for you because there probably is an online calculator to compare plans.

Those Calculations are off because of the rate you chose to base it on. I had a 10.8c rating over 2000kw. it would jump to 21.3c under 2000kw.
What I am looking at now is 14c at 2000kw and 21.7 under 2000kw. Over 2000kw gets $150 bill credit each month. The other option is 14c for 2000kw, 14.7 for less than 2000kw. No bill credit. The question was should I do the with the Bill credit or not.

Good Lord those were hella good rates, I remember those days. It's like looking at a throwback McDonald's menu and seeing combo meals starting at $2.99 each.

For those that don't want to mess with all of this but still want to get the best rates, try Texas Power Agents.

    https://www.texaspoweragents.com

Been using them for years and love them. They handle enrollment, cancellations, contracts, literally everything. $99/year which is less than 10 bucks a month.

Where will I find the 21.7 on the link that you gave and that I used?

Is the 14¢ rate for 2000 KWh for electricity only or is that what it nets out to after all of the charges are summed and the $150 Usage Credit is subtracted?
