    I concur.

We just don't have that guy.

I don't believe we have had the opportunity to draft one of those players.

Sengun, Jabari, Amen & Cam are all solid players, I just don't think any of them are "that guy."

I don't believe there have been more than two of those drafted by the entire league during this 4 year period.

I'd take Williams at 7 in a hurry. He's got a lot of tools and doesn't take bad shots or make many mistakes.
Great length with well above average shooting and good defense - sign me up. Plug him in at the 3 ....find a taker for Brooks & send Jalen to the ignite when he struggles and start Cam .... big at the 2-3-4 spots. Bully ball.

And at 14 take Kel'el Ware .... IF he's still there.

He's our best shot at the moment. Also an outside chance with Jalen. I don't think we even fully know what we have with Amen and Cam yet. Jabari and Tari are almost certainly not that type of guy, although they are at least going to be good roleplayers.

Still not fully sold on Sengun getting all the way there.

At a minimum I think he's going to be somewhat better than Sabonis, but there's a wide gap between Sabonis and contending for an MVP. Sabonis is in, what, the 20-30 range among NBA players? Can Alpi be in the top 15? Probably? Can he be in the top 10? Maybe. Top 5? I don't know, man. Each step up that ladder is tougher and tougher to make.

Then the other question is--Do we have a co-star as good as De'Aaron in the fold who just needs to finish developing?

I can see us ending up in the Kings' position, but I could also see us doing better than that. Always kind of tough when you're just waiting to see how guys develop and turn out.

There hasn’t been any so far. I do think that Amen and Jalen have the greatest chance of being that guy. Banchero and Mobley are way over-rated on this board and in the media in general. Jalen has one half of a season to prove it. I predict Amen is going to make a tremendous jump this year unless the Rockets somehow find a way to reduce his minutes by trading for an almost star. People writing him off after a stint of 30 games or so of consistent starter minutes are being ridiculous. I haven’t seen a rookie that loves basketball like this guy in decades. Add that to his natural abilities and he has superstar written all over him.

Find it interesting that you think Sengun needs to be replaced over Jalen. I assure you Jalen won't sustain his play from the end of last year into the next. He was dropping off again at the very end and won't be nearly as good as people think he will be. For some reason people sip this Jalen coolaide until it because moldy then comes back for more.

Anyone who thinks we got “ the guy” or even anyone close to it, is a delusional fan

we haven’t had the chance to draft the best player because these past drafts have sucked in terms of where we pick/picked.

segun maybe has a chance. Borderline allstar is highest I see him

that’s it. Everyone else are good role players

This post is absolutely spot on. We should ask Stone and Ime to solve the lack of or absence of reliable and consistent long-range threat. on this team

That could happen by bringing in guys like Sheppard. But it may also require some changes in the so-called "core six" if the majority of them continue to be inconsistent shooters.

I really don't see it with Clingan. Not saying Clingan will be bad, but Edey seems better.

I wonder if Shaq would be classified as this if he was in the draft this year

Maybe Edey would bring us all the Purdue fans as Yao brought us the Chinese base.

Shaq and Clingan aren’t in the same universe so no…there is nothing dime a dozen about Shaq

younger Shaq looked like 7ft Zion out there at times

Clingan is at best is going to be another Walker Kessler...Do Not Waste #3 Pick On a Rotational Player!!! Gotta draft someone with a higher ceiling and if it's not at #3, then we should trade down or trade the pick!
I'm all for drafting Sheppard or Rob Dillingham...we need more shooting and scoring...draft an Athletic Big who can block shots and catch alley-oops with our 2nd round pick

I’m 90 percent certain Amen will be a star level player with or without the 3ball.

Ware better than both of them and a better fit for the Rockets.

Clingan knuckleheads have not been able to explain what they see Clingan becoming.

Walker Kessler/Nic Claxton is basically his realistic ceiling. There are literally ZERO player in the same mold until you move up to Gobert level.

14th pick? Maybe if your team really needed a blocking goon. 3rd pick, GET THE **** OUT

Are there no Vulcans or Romulans worth drafting? If not, we should try to get Sarr.
