If true, this is 100% on Crane. He knows his team and isn't oblivious of the heartbeat of the clubhouse -- besides trashcans, right. Past three seasons we have lost leadership in Yuli, Maldonado, and Baker, and replaced them with an aging 1B who only had potential to be a leader, a 2nd-year catcher, and a rookie manager who was passed over multiple times, by multiple teams, for multiple years. If Maldonado's leadership was that important (and we're seemingly lacking leadership), Crane should've re-signed him to play 50 games or offer him a coaching job and/or hired an established manager.
A lot of that is coming from Brown (11.84), Arrighetti (10.97), Hader (7.45), and France (8.24) in April. The pitching was excellent in May, but because of the offense they still only went 15-14.
We could have learned a thing or two last night from the Twins in working the count against Blanco. A couple of times their hitters ate up a bunch of pitches against him. Got him out of rhythm and shortened his outing. Ultimately getting on base. One finally got a pitch he wanted for a 2 run HR. To me that was the difference in the game. Of course it doesn't help when we can't hit with runners on base. If things don't improve like yesterday it's going to continue to be a long year.
My pretty good -- but could be wrong -- research says 3.62 104 ERs in 258.1 innings 104 x 9 / 258.333 = 3.62 The 0.1 inning was the walkoff Game 3 @ SEA
I actually think a 10 pitch at bat ending in a fly out is better than an infield single on the 1st pitch.
Each has its advantage and I get your drift -- but a hit is always better than an out, flyout or not.
Really? Have you NEVER watched sports? Look at the Texans last year. Noticed how they played for Demeco vs Culley and Lovie? Yes…Stroud makes a difference, but many of the same players looked night and day different. There are many examples of teams looking different with another coach/manager at the helm.
Or maybe he doesn’t have the right voice his to focus him on what to change. Why is Bregan hitting 4th when his numbers are at any other place in the lineup?
yeah, ok. You thought getting rid of Dusty would be rainbows and sprinkles for the team. You were wrong. Espada has SHOWN NOTHING and is a dead man walking. Could he turn it around? Sure. Whoever is the next manager better not be a “Littlefinger” type, backstabbing like Espada did last season. He should have been paying attention on how to motivate players and make coaching adjustments.
I can't exactly put a finger on it, but something about Pablo Lopez is absolutely detestable to me. Can't stand that ****.
Maybe pitchers have figured Yordan out. Maybe they have figured Yainer out. Last homer April 11th. For May no homers and 8 RBI's. WAR for 2024 -0.1.
So you’re so dumb that you think wanting Dusty gone automatically makes one an Espada fan? Hardly anyone here was clamoring for Espada to be the new manager. We’ve had bad managers before and we stayed fans, unlike you. The fans that did want Espada are still much better fans than you.
