viva hate barely missed the cut for me. its excellent from start to finish. morrissey pulled a total morrissey when he did a reissue of this album a few years back. took the best song (imo) off because he had a falling out with the co-writer and didnt want him getting any money. he replaced it with a lame b-side. was replaced by this...
For the record, I'm not a Metallica-phile. I like all of their full albums equally. I just like One more than everything else...which is why I included ...AJfA in my list. I like the Black album, Master Of Puppets and the rest equally.
Yeah, was thinking back on what I played the most over the years, and this one definitely wore the CD player out. I think they went more bass heavy in this album which I really enjoy in most of my music. Obviously very 'formative period' time period on my albums, although the rise of digital music and my early adoption really killed the idea of listening to an entire album for me since I could pick and choose my playlist. Streaming music on Pandora with the music genome even more so since I can just listen to genres and not specific bands. Lastly, the tracks on albums where they're just laughing or smoking weed never did it for me and killed the flow of an otherwise good album. This is all part of why it's hard to pick 20.

Dang, I forgot all about Aerosmith and Bad Co. I played the hell out of Rocks, Toys in the Attic, and Wings, as well as Bad Co. Bad Co. I also forgot to add Queen to my list. Too many great bands to narrow down to 20 for me from the 70's alone. I didn't even get started in the 80's, 90's and beyond.
