The part I like about this deal is Montgomery at this point is a lot more consistent than Framber, and Framber going back to Strom might get Arizona attention. Plus, with all the BS that went on last year and seeing how he looks this year, and the BS two starts ago going away from what Diaz wanted, Framber would probably be better off somewhere else I would want to see another month of Jake kicking ass before I sent Chas out though
I agree that trade wouldn’t happen and I agree with most of what you say here But short term the Astros would be significantly better, just in the short term obviously. Walker at 1B is a significant upgrade, and I’m as big of a Chas fan as you will find, but he hasn’t given us much value this year I like the idea of a Framber/ JM deal though. With Framber having an extra year we would need a sweetener on it, but he could legit get back on track out of the situation started with all the Maldy BS last year and still going to some extent with the Diaz crap two starts ago And I think JM would be better for us from here on, it’s hard to see Framber being more than he is right now without a change
Didn't realize he was a rental. Yea, that would be a good look at 1B Wonder what the cost would be. Probably a back end top 100 guy plus a couple lower end lotto tickets?
I saw a couple suggest Astros go after him and all mocks included Loperfido + Also 1 thought hitting between Tucker and Alvarez would do wonders for Guerrero.
I wouldn't trade Loperfido in a deal for Vladdy as a rental. If we were better overall I might, but unless we do something to boost the pitching i'd be a bit more hesitant
Guerrero isn't a rental. Has 1 more year. Regardless, I'm also hesitant in adding Loperfido in a deal. Jim Bowden was 1 of the guys and he suggested Loperfido and Kenedy Corona. If he does well, would suck to lose potentially both him and Tucker. On a unrelated note, maybe The Athletic suggested Astros look at Pete Alonso but he would be a rental. What's more of Crane move, him or Vladdy? That Patrick Creighton guy said no prospects including Loperfido shouldn't be off the table. Also assume his arbitration number next year would be around $25 mil. Saw another proposal, Guerrero for Melton and cash
That was on our manager Presley threw way too many pitches in that inning and should have been pulled much earlier.
why are we pitching shutdown closer studs in games in which we are behind????? edit: new challenge-- cant relinquish or take back any bp* options from last year..... edit2: whoever let Stanek walk should be fired this week. *bullpen
Starter...Tyler Anderson....looks like their better guys are having a bad year. Can Houston fix someone like Patrick Sandoval? Relief pitchers.....Hunter Strickland and Carson Fulmer?
Mike Trout is the only option as "injured"' as he may be, he's the next "level-up" for this clubhouse to get both himself and the city, a ring.... ... bc apparently nobody wants to be "THE GUY" here (take it BigJonStudd or JaketheSneakyRakeMeyers or JP TaqArandas)... all you MF are Astros-- dont allow what -- 1 move define a clubhouse... Fvck it Jimmy, get the band back together for one more guaranteed ring--- rent Springer, rent Correa, outright-trade assets for Hinch, move JoAbreu-Bagwell into developmental/advocate/PR roles.... and yeah, no Jose Abreu deserves to come off the bench in late-inning games as an insurance policy.... but what can he ensure...????
