It's funny to remember that this has only been called a "weak draft" for around less than a year. Before that, it was supposed to be the "Buzelis and Holland" draft. They were supposed to be the gems holding up the ceiling of the draft while the other, more role player projecting players, held the floor. Then they both had horrible Ignite seasons and the whole draft started looking like role players. I wouldn't mind betting on the pedigree, and against Ignite, and taking the upside bet on Buzelis or Holland. I like players I hear about even way before their draft coming up. I heard about these 2 as far back as the Cunningham draft. There are some special ones that you hear about even when their 15 and the draft is still several years away like Luka, Wemby, Paolo, Chet and the upcoming Cooper Flagg. To be fair there are also bad ones like Emoni Bates and Aquille Carr but the 2 this year don't have issues as bad as those 2.
I never mentioned Reed as a sure bet. The value of the 3rd pick unfortunately isn't high, that's why it's hard to trade it.
Cooper Flagg looked good. Liked the way he moves his feet on defense. Has a solid stroke and nice touch with both hands near the basket.
