Bregman in that interview clearly showed no respect for Espada, and Espada folded like a tin chair putting him back in the cleanup spot.
It's not the fact that Bregs is sucking but that he still is in prime spots which means he has more chances to come up with guys on base. This is poor managing. Bregs is hurting the team worse the Maldy ever did and J. Abreu so far this year. It's infuriating. Espada is too much of a wimp or too stupid with the back of the baseball stuff to change it up though.
(ironically, Bregman would have come up with all sorts of people on base this game batting 6th or 7th…. Here we go!)
