Could be one of those "courtesy cuts", lets him go find a team that he can compete with

Or he's done. One or the other.

He’s just not a MLB pitcher… but he has no other place in the minors either.

This is where ex-NBA/college players make their living overseas… but overseas baseball is a little bit scary.

If that's his future, and I'm not totally sure it is, I'd start learning Korean or Japanese STAT, and go live like a king over there

Underrated. Plus Tom Selleck could probably play the role of a legit MLB manager better than Espada, lol.

There was never any doubt that the best
Lineup we could field against a meh LHP was going to end with us not scoring an earned run.

And imagine if dubon wasn’t playing.

They have put themselves in a position where they will have to bring Abreu back soon. Unless he completely craps the bed in AAA - like 75% Ks and low exit velocities on balls in play.

So the question becomes how often does he play and for how long?

My suggestion would be to give him until July 1st. Start him vs every LHSP and a total of 50% w/ Singleton getting the others.

Then if he isn't at minimum 50th percentile in expected and quality of contact metrics during that time DFA him.

Then platoon Dubon and Singleton while finding a rental 1B

Would it be SO terrible to play Tucker at 1B and give Leon a chance in RF?

For Tucker and his FA hopes and MVP chances yes. Also, don’t believe Leon is likely to be much better than Loperfido, so the answer is just to play Loperfido at first.

Our lineup should be this 5-6 games a week

    1. Altuve 2B
    2. Tucker RF
    3. Yordan DH
    4. Pena ss
    5. Meyers CF
    6. Dubon 3B
    7. McCormick LF
    8. Singleton 1B
    9. Diaz C

Good speed overall in that lineup too

sorry Alex but you did it to yourself. Work your way back from the bench.

If you really want to take it there, Chas has been terrible. Why are you giving him a pass?

Because he killed it last year and earned the right to have a bad April and not lose his job. He is coming off injury now too. Give the guy a chance.

now go ahead and ask me why Bregman has to be benched then lol

It's funny you'd give Chas a pass for a great 2023 but then not give Bregs a pass when his career #s are better than Chas's best season.

    I second this.

Play them both because of history- legit argument.
Bench them both for terrible season to date- same

Bench Alex but give Chas the benefit of the doubt? Totally lost credibility.
