I agree. Chauvin was railroaded to keep the riots down. That's why a former federal informant tried to stab him to death in prison... to keep this story from seeing the light of day again. I also think the jurors felt threatened if they didn't convict. The justice system is far from perfect.

Many MAGA really do hate the justice system and wish it would only be applied to others.

Chauvin was tried, evidence from both sides produced in the trial including the bogus idea of the drug overdose.

He was found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by a jury of his peers which consisted of 6 white people and 6 people of color. All 12 agreed after weighing the evidence. Juries are instructed to avoid news of the trial and to focus solely on the evidence.

If you are against the framework for trials in this nation, then work in campaigns and groups seeking to change the jury system.

juries get verdicts wrong all the time

Floyd had a lethal dose of fentanyl in his system. There is no way to know beyond a reasonable doubt that Chauvin killed him. But juries are made of people and people are dumb af.

Yes, there is. You are entitled to hate the jury system. But it exists in this country as long as the country has existed. It isn't the liberals or leftists that hate this nation, these days.

You think you would survive this? Even after you can't breathe from the force? Even with a knee to your neck, compressed to the ground, 2 minutes after your pulse stops? You think you know more than a medical experts? What makes you smarter than those highly qualified and experienced experts? You call the jury dumb, but that doesn't make you right. It makes you ignorant.

Floyd was murdered by Derek Chauvin, a white Minneapolis police officer, who pressed his knee to Floyd's neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds while Floyd was handcuffed face down in the street. As seen in a witness's cellphone video, two other officers further restrained Floyd and a fourth prevented onlookers from intervening:  6:24 as Floyd repeatedly pleaded that he could not breathe. During the final two minutes, Floyd was motionless and had no pulse, but Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd's neck and back even as emergency medical technicians arrived to treat Floyd.

The medical examiner found that Floyd's heart stopped while he was being restrained and that his death was a homicide, caused by "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression", though fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use may have increased the likelihood of death.

A second autopsy, commissioned by Floyd's family, also found his death to be a homicide, specifically citing asphyxia due to neck and back compression; it ruled out that any underlying medical problems had contributed to Floyd's death, and said that Floyd being able to speak while under Chauvin's knee does not mean he could breathe.

All of this stuff was debated exhaustively in this thread. Just reread it.

What this shows more is that the modern Rightwing that once preached personal responsibility is now the party of “it’s someone else’s fault”.

When LEO kill people George Floyd and Philando Castillo it’s their own fault for getting killed. When a right leaning person like Daniel Perry kills someone it’s not his fault even though he posted he was going to look for trouble and might have to kill someone.

When rioters storm the Capitol and beat LEO it’s not their fault they are arrested and prosecuted even though many of them posted on social media what they were doing and why.

And of course it’s never Trump’s fault but “lawfare” out to get him. Even as the DOJ prosecuted A Democratic Senator, the son of the current President and had a special counsel look into the current President.
