We need shooters BADLY. Sheppard is the easy pick -- too perfect of a fit. And the potential to be a marketing sensation for Tilman. The only possible exception would be to draft Clingan if we think he's going to make us into the top defensive team in the NBA. Truly elite defensive bigs are hard to come by.
Big men are easier to bust......so I think going with guards and wings could be turning out to be mediocre at worst. But stay away from Ignite players for now, those are just not solid enough IMHO....especially for franchises like the Rockets who are not the best at development......
Lol I have not heard anything about Sheppard outside of Clutchfans and Houston and being a social media phenom.....I mean Kentucky is cool but I heard more about John Wall and DM Cousins coming out of that school than Sheppard and Dillingham to be honest. Only Caitlin Clark seems to be dominating news and social media now.
Where are those "scouts"/ "experts" who were saying he can't put the ball on the and stuff like that. Those latest highlights tell otherwise. I see good in the move ball handling, quick trigger, nice looking jump shoot and very good, disciplined defense. The finished product has a chance to be in the ball park of Jayson Tatum/ Mikal Bridges. Now, I don't think he'll be there at 3. But, yeah if he's there, great value for the pick.
The only problem is that in high school the great athletes don’t need a 3 to lead their team in scoring. College would be the first time they would need a 3. It is an unknown whether Castle (or Amen ftm) will learn to shoot 3s. Castle’s FT% might indicate that shooting is a skill that he can learn. Castle’s D will play right away. And we are seeing first hand that some players find playing good D is much harder than shooting. If Castle is drafted high, then that team thinks that they can teach him to shot.
Jason Kidd did not shoot well until he was 30 or something, it happens at different stages for different players. Or it does not happen.
People these days are too caught up in BS numbers height, standing reach, % of this % of that - if a guy can play he can play. DD
The analytics revolution has become a huge problem across all sports -- for example 'interenet experts' were saying Bryce Young was too small to succeed in the NFL. I can only imagine how dumb they feel now.
Well after reading all of fans opinions, I guess we finally got our Luka/Kyrie/Curry. It took 4 years but we finally get to draft a true generational talent. Admittedly I was skeptical but now I'm stoked. Looks like he instantly becomes our franchise player as he will easily surpass everyone in our core 6. Not just Jalen. Sof's vs Rof's should be fun to read. Good times all around.
Well I was one of those...lol.....but mostly because he was short, and he played with better athletes on his team every game..... DD
