Why Don't We Steal More Bases?

    You want Yordan to sac bunt when the defense is looking for it?

    He loves to push one down 3B line when there's a massive shift on...but I don't want certain guys giving up outs when I'd rather them swing. Just me, though.

    Also: bunting is not nearly as easy as it looks, and few players practice the art of it enough to be good

    This season, the Astros are on pace to be one hit short of their average in bunt hits since bunt attempts were tracked and up 3 over average since joining the AL. They are on pace to give up 55 less outs than their average year on bunts since bunts were tracked and on pace to give up 24 less outs since joining the AL.

    If you love bunt hits, you should be loving this season or at least ambivalent considering the number of hits has been pretty stable. For me, I love that the Astros aren't giving up outs nearly as much as they use to without taking away the bunt hits.
