I really hope that going 0-10 or some such at AAA would expedite the decision to part ways. We will see.
Right? I also had zero hope for Singleton and he's proven to be totally mediocrely average (his OPS would be 14th among 1B if he had the ABs to qualify)
Now that Meyers has largely forced him out of the outfield, I can't comprehend why Dubon hasn't started every single game at 1B against a LHP. His career sample size is large enough and is only getting better, he absolutely kills lefties. Even at 1B I think he's a viable option if you have a competent LHB to eat most of the starts against righties. They have to get Dubon every PA possible against LHP, but it shouldn't come at the expense of Chaz and Meyers.

Because he’s in Arb 2 you don’t bring him back and pay him next year to hope you get him back in August. I supposed if he wanted to sign something like a 2/5 I might offer him that if I was the Astros but would probably just dfa him. Tough break for him.

I think its most probable the Astros ride Abreu to the end (of this season) whether he is good or not.
If that were the case, they wouldn’t have sent him to Florida in the first place. It’s highly probable he’s getting on last chance and it’s not going to last very long if he’s anywhere near as bad as he was.
