JV with win #260. Never thought we would ever see a starting pitcher hit that number. Also 10th all time in strikeouts.
Big Jon proving it’s hard to get that slugging% above .400 with just singles. Still, he’s getting hits and walks. Jake is the real story this season though. I am really happy for that guy. He is killing it. Pena also killing it .
JV is pitching well but he ain’t getting to 300. He would have to pitch till he was 46 *because he would lose time to injuries
All kinds of mistakes there. We were 20-25, 21-26 and 22-27 before getting back to 5 under currently at 23-28. Also only 1/2 game back of Texas. Does this guy check his info normally?
Pena 1st, then Jake. But yeah those are the stories of the season so far. It would be nice to know we got LF, CF, SS, 2B, C and DH locked up through pretty much the rest of this decade, only needing to sign Tucker long term and then hoping Loperfido can be our everyday 1B. That means only having to find a 3B after Bregman walks.
Great win! The Chas catch was fantastic. And Jake is hitting the ball hard almost every AB. The team seems to be heading in the right direction. It’s the perfect time to crowbar Jose Abreu back into the lineup, right? EFF YOU JEFF BAGWELL! Please go away forever.
Best case projections: 257 wins entering this season 2024: 15 wins (age 41) 2025: 14 wins (age 42) 2026: 14 wins (age 43) Likelihood is he'll need to pitch the 2027 season, but if he can stay healthy, he would certainly get to 300 wins by his age 44 season. He takes care of his body like no one else. I would not put it past him to get there. Injuries would prevent it, not his decline in quality of pitching. Even near worse case projections get it done in 2027: 2024: 13 wins 2025: 12 wins 2026: 10 wins 2027: 8 wins
